If it doesn't work, I'm still £1 a month better off
Why just £1? Current offer pays £2, new one £5 a month. So I’ll be £3 better off a month. Where are you losing £2?

You can only have one sole and one joint reward account. You can’t have two sole reward accounts according to the letter.
It let me convert two. Usually these are more geared to new applicants & sometimes the systems can't deal with grandfathered rights so can get away with it. No harm in trying.

If it doesn't work, I'm still £1 a month better off & will just close one of them
If your debit card 'spend' doesn't qualify, you're £4 worse off, but you would have been anyway.
As I said earlier, heads you win and tails you don't lose.

They currently have two accounts, paying a total of £4.
If only one qualifies going forward they get £5.
If both qualify they get £10.
If Halifax read this thread they may get nothing. :)

It is that Halifax left so many loose ends in the wording that we can well think the assumptions we are making are right. Or wrong. In 2 days time we will hopefully know.
I doubt that!  I think it won't be until the day after the first business day in July...

If it remains a 'Reward Current Account' then it will pay out. If it becomes a 'Current Account' it won't.

It will be interesting to see if any account descriptions get updated prior to the the first payment, though a change at any stage prior to the payment would be sufficient to disqualify an account from eligibility.

If it remains a 'Reward Current Account' then it will pay out if you met the conditions of the reward you chose. If it becomes a 'Current Account' it won't.
Slight correction, if I may  ;)

By 2 days' time I did not mean the reward payment, of course!
I was told by a CS advisor 1 week or so ago that in the Account Information menu we should see the account type has changed from tomorrow. (I posted these findings then here)
If more than 1 eligible account has been migrated to new scheme then it should show there. That is what I referred to in the para you quoted.

Since an individual can have two accounts that pay the new reward (according to T&Cs one sole and one joint), the phone robot would offer to let callers change both of them on the one call. Therefore nothing can be deduced from this about what will happen for those people with multiple sole accounts.

Please can I ask..  do you have to call up Halifax to choose the £5 a month reward option?  or can we choose on our online account?     Thanks for helping
