If the account transfer in June works out without issue then thats stage one of the battle ...
After that the fee is easily avoided
Then the DC 500 spend battle comes into play for the month of june a whole month of time to figure a work around out?
Im going for the throat
The 500 spend and pingit thing is my personal tech hurdle .
A Egg account ?
Wow thats a blast from the past I made 40 quid from TSB save the change using the egg account it also had lots of other uses .

YorkshireBoy said:I'm still slightly undecided on this one. With 4 Reward accounts I'm thinking of going half and half.
Reward 1 is my main account and receives my salary (covering the £1500). Because the balance fluctuates wildly throughout the month I'm thinking of going the £500 DC route and chancing my arm with an old Egg Savings account, S&S ISA and pension payments.
Reward 2 I'll do the same as Reward 1 with regard to payments.
With Reward accounts 3 & 4 I'll dump £5K in each, but may wait until my my Marcus rate drops in a couple of months or so. I'm hedging my bets a little here in case my current regular saver funding hub - Club Lloyds - drops the rate...in which case I'll move the SOs to one or both of these Reward accounts. Should just be a last day of the month top up prior to all 1st of month reg saver SOs leaving.
Funding for all will continue as is, internally from Reward 1 on payday, with the amount raised as necessary.
Can anyone see a flaw in this logic?

I've tried to call numerous times and always get an automated replying saying they're very busy due to Choronavirus and to only phone if it's really urgent. The last time I tried I persisted and ended up in a 30 minute queue. No wonder they;re extremely busy. If loads of Reward customers are forced to phone them. Why can they not automate these changes and have a choice to make them online?
Just phoned and given them my options, does the Halifax send an acknowledgement in any way?0 -
Just to point out that there is a second number- fortunately already mentioned on here:
I dialled 0345 129 9744- just thin air! (x3) then remembered to change the last 2 digits: 0345 129 9733 and that worked ten minutes ago
as this is now my 'real' current a/c I'm thinking I shall need to have at least £5.5K to allow for the DDs which still leave.
After this is up and running could cancel minor DDs on other a/cs and transfer over. I have Saga & BMS savings a/cs to qualify with BOS & Lloyds and they now pay an absolute pittance!
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Can anyone tell me how do you know your account is upgraded once you ring the number?
Or should I say, what changes are now noticeable within Halifax online banking ?

Nobody appears to have got any more than the confirmation in the automated call.1

I've decided to sit this one out for a while and see how everyone gets on with their hoop jumps.
Despite vowing to simplify my finances and cull some accounts, I've opened 4 new regular savers in April & 2 new current accounts in the last few days. getting to the stage where the few extra £s simply isn't worth the effort.
I'll get my coat

Under current lockdown, there's far more white on the hood than usual

I face-booked Halifax to ask when the new scheme starts from, as I have opted for the £5000 balance as I am a non tax payer so can claim the extra £1.25 back.
I have had the response back saying that any accounts that were open before the 13th March 2020 that the new scheme starts from the 1st of June, so if you have chosen the £5000 balance then this must be in on the 1st June and thereafter. If you opened your account on/after the 13th March 2020 then the 1st of July applies.3
