I hope YBS works out faster than the PO
My issue will be getting it done as quick as poss a number of times per month.

I've used YBS previously for something similar (not a Halifax debit card). Worked well until they froze my account as they suspected fraud on my account and withheld my funds for about 3 weeks. So if you do go with YBS go carefully and maybe leave your £500 in YBS for a little while to make it look more 'genuine' to them.

I'd been a loyal YBS customer for over 30 years before that, but don't touch them now after they treated me like a criminal.

    I’m completely confused about this whole change from Halifax. I’ve read the recent posts a couple of times and can’t find categorical answers to these questions, so could some kind soul please help?!;

    - my online letter telling me about the changes states the account changes on 1st June. But now it seems like it’s happening in July. Do we know for certain if it’s July for everyone now?

    - do the debit card transactions have to happen the prior month to qualify, like the £1500 deposit?

    - if the changes happen on 1st June, does this mean the deposits & debit card transactions have to take place in May?

    - will the reward payment in June be under the old rules or the new ones?

    thanks a million!

When you receive the payment at the beginning of one month it is in respect of the previous month's activity.  So, as you have notification of the change in June, you should receive payment at the beginning of June in respect of what happened in May.  And that is for the conditions applicable then - which are the same as for April and before.
As the account changes in June, you ensure the conditions to receive whatever you choose as your benefit are met in June and it should be received in July.

I had my concerns about attempting this whole new halifax  terms and conds circus which is then revised in 12 months
With a portifollio who knows the outcome
I had better get another backup account that accepts DCard payments in and then ideally has prompt transfers back out .
I will need the money to use in the  current situation  so am at a disadvantage compared to the past I cant float 500 DC payments too long .
If anyone can advise on a backup account that accepts DCard payments  either bricks and mortar or my first app based account  It would be helpful .
I have put a halifax account through today on 0345 129 9733 so baby stepping that aspect of the accounts .

So which accounts are people actually looking at using for the £500 a month spend?

May be they did you a favour by not letting you deposit any more. You are a very brave person, planning on depositing £500 into a PO savings account each month. Have you worked out how you would be able, reliably and instantly, to withdraw your cash from the account?
I do not need to instantly withdraw it.  I know it takes a few days.  I just use to the PO for DDs.

Just be aware, some people get problem with withdrawing money from Post Office Saving,  especally those with multiple accounts with PO. They will need to call them to sort out the problem.

From what I've read, you're lucky to be able to get your money out of a PO account at all without numerous battles with customer services, let alone within a few days.
