Thank you Molly, but we should not have to do that. If the post numbers were available on the old forum, then I can't see any reason why MSE can't accommodate this on the revised version. If not, then threads won't be as useful or as helpful.MollyR said:
There is a way around this, although it's a bit clunky. Click on the name of the poster of the post you want to refer to, and go to their profile. Select Replies, and look for the particular post in the list you will see. Click on that post and it will open. Copy the URL from the location bar in your browser, and this can then be posted into your own post as a link - a live clickable link if you use the HTML option and put in the <a href="...">...</a> tags.10_66 said:Please can we have the individual post numbers back?
It helps so much when you want to refer to a particular post in a thread (which you may not necessarily want to quote, but to which you wish to refer other members of the forum for information).3 -
Yes, I know. I just offered it as a workaround until such time as the post numbers are displayed, and can be made clickable when quoted.

And another, maybe less clunky, way of doing it is to copy and paste the date info from the post you wish to refer to.MollyR said:

So, for example, if I want to refer to the post that luvchocolate made at 6:08pm yesterday, I can just copy and past the date and time info from that post's header into my current post, like this... 5 March at 6:08PM
Click on that date and see what happens.2 -
Ah, nice one! It produces the same underlying URL, but with *much* less hassle.0

This will put a link to the post into your browser's Address Bar that you can copy.Alternatively, you can right-click (long-press on mobile) the time and then select "Copy"Join the MSE Forum

The fact you can't search for anything posted after 26 February surely should be a top priority. A lot of people use the search facility and results after that date are not showing up at all.2

Thank you, I didn't realise you could do this now!MSE_Stephen said:You can now click the time the post was made - displayed just above the post. Is nobody else missing the FB button? I found this really useful for sharing comps into a comping group I'm on.Worse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."0

Yes, I can, but more easily on my phone than on my desktop but that's not really the point. Although I'm sympathetic to tine if s/he's had abusive comments, the migration to the new platform has been a mess. It appears to have been launched much too soon without adequate testing. We shouldn't have to rely on finding ways around the mess they've made and certainly shouldn't be 'told off' for being criticalMisslayed said:@maman 🤰Can you use your keyboard emojis? 🤗🍰🧁🤔. 👍👏🏻👏🏻🧜♀️🧚🏻♂️

Thank you for the update.
It would be useful to also have a list of things you are not doing, or have no plans to do.
I assume from its absence that hover is one of these things. Unfortunately for me (and many other compers) that's a crucial part of my everyday use of the forum, so an update even if it's to say no would be useful.2
