However, if it helps people to feel calmer and a bit less anxious, it can’t hurt, I suppose.
For believers, religions can be a source of solace when times are horrid.(I just lurve spiders!)

I'm absolutely bricking it. To be honest, when it first started, I thought it would be over and done within 2 weeks.
I'm worried for my Mum who is elderly and very frail. She's got diabetes too. I've gone into super cleaning mode to make sure germs are kept at bay.
I don't understand the fascination with toilet roll. Why would people want to start wiping backsides when there is this virus going on. Don't they do it normally?
We've not stock piled but have the essentials in case the UK goes into full on lock down. We got a few large bags of barley powder - it was what people in Nepal or somewhere mixed into their tea to make a porridge like drink which kept them full and energised all day - it was on one of Nadiyas cooking programmes. Random I know but why not.
There's a lot of scaremongering going on on social media so I am trying to avoid WhatsApp messages and what not.
There's a Muslim organisation in the area who have started a campaign to take food packages to elderly and vulnerable who are in need, they'll help out as much as they can.
Take care everyone.3 -
I am quite worried now I am in good health aged 67, My son lives a 50 min train journey away and I had planned on going tomorrow.
They have a 3 week old baby and 2 year year old, son working from home daughter in law on maternity leave.
Not sure what to do?1 -
It is a bad idea to go IMO. You are very nearly in the age bracket being told to stay at home. I know it appears scaremongering but IMO it is not worth the risk..and I am sick of the term 'scaremongering' as everything I said was going to happen a month ago (and was told to stop scaremongering) is happening. But our government reaction is too lateluvchocolate said:I am quite worried now I am in good health aged 67, My son lives a 50 min train journey away and I had planned on going tomorrow.

My Dad is same age as you, and he refuses point blank to stay at home. He is not in great health and has experienced someone shoving him in a supermarket this morning. Shoving an older guy, i mean what the actual hell is going on with civilisation at the moment who knows
Im furious. Literally so furious, it is a good job i was not there or i would be in police custody right nowWith love, POSR

Not sure what to do?I strongly agree - please stay at home - not only for your own good - but your offspring as well !You really should be self isolating by now !

Thank you I think you may be right as much as I hate to admit it.50Twuncle said:luvchocolate said:I am quite worried now I am in good health aged 67, My son lives a 50 min train journey away and I had planned on going tomorrow.

Do not understand why I should be self isolating though?1 -
Perhaps self-isolating is a bit strong. However, the government directive is quite clear:luvchocolate said:

NO UNNECESSARY JOURNEYS.
So, unless it is a matter of life and death, don’t go.
We should all be social distancing .......not getting too close to people, any people. No more than 1-2 metres away. Difficult to do that if you are visiting family.
Think: Short-term gain? (Seeing family and cuddling babies)
OR
Long-term pain? (Helping to prolong this awful situation and possibly contributing to more deaths)(I just lurve spiders!)
