Used car purchase and return issue

If you are doing 1000 miles per week, then wouldn’t a diesel have been a better choice..?1

What I find strange is there was no mention in the opening post of faults, just a general the fuel consumption was poor which has since been shown to be about if not slightly above average for that model. The whole story is beginning to unravel.
I was always told when your in a hole stop digging.
I expect an announcement of great victory for the OP in a few days.1 -
..still looking forward to the film coming out.....

Car has had a few owners already just in 5 years, we will see with my rights what happens next. I will update this forum with my outcome.lopsyfa said:You don't have any ground for return. 170 miles for £40 means about 25mpg, if we assume petrol is £1.30 per litre. That is actually very good for a 4 litre car. You can't then compare the consumption with a smaller engine car. You should have bought a smaller engine car then. The car now has an extra registered keeper and the fact they advertise it for the same price doesn't mean it will sell for that price. They also need to account for the overheads and costs involved in selling the car to you and then buying it back.Next time research the car better before buying it.
It doesn't matter whether it has 100 owners before. The fact is, it now has an extra owner because you don't understand what you were buying.

The same car I bought is listed with the same number of previous owners, they didn't include me to be the 4th owner.lopsyfa said:gerdzio said:

They actually listed this car at higher price than I bought.
This car behaved strange, for example when I pressed the accelerator slightly to get more speed I noticed that the back of the car was moving from one side to another, I was loosing control. Car should actually stick to the road, maybe that's to do with "Good tyres" that they describe. I forgot to mention all these things. I'm not trying to find sth but I'm honest. When I accelerate with my other car with v6 engine it doesn't have that problem with moving back from one side to another.
I can't accept the fact that they paid me 2500 pounds less, where they sell it for higher price. That was just a few days after car has been returned.0 -
@gerdzio
Every time you post you "remember" something else, get a grip !
In your OP you said they were selling it at more than the price they gave you when you returned it, now it's a higher price than you bought it for, I think you are making this up as you go along.
As for it moving around under acceleration, that's not necessarily a fault or a tyre issue if the road was slippery, my last 4 wheel drive car compensated by moving the power around however the traction control sorted it all out.
You did not actually lose control, did you ?
What's your next gripe ?

I had to move around with the steering wheel when car's back started to move from side to side. I drive this road since 2008.0 -
Basically they bought the car off you the same way they would buy any car off someone else to re-sell. Only for £2.5K less than what you paid for it. You haven't got a leg to stand on. They didn't have to buy the car back off you.

Of course they will attempt to sell it at a profit, they are not a charity! No free lunch, and no free laptop
