lopsyfa said:You don't have any ground for return. 170 miles for £40 means about 25mpg, if we assume petrol is £1.30 per litre. That is actually very good for a 4 litre car. You can't then compare the consumption with a smaller engine car. You should have bought a smaller engine car then. The car now has an extra registered keeper and the fact they advertise it for the same price doesn't mean it will sell for that price. They also need to account for the overheads and costs involved in selling the car to you and then buying it back.Next time research the car better before buying it.0

The_Rainmaker said:So what we have here is a new car 4.0l V8 that the OP buys and in his excitement of owning a new car runs it ragged for a week or so gets the mpg down possibly as low as sub 10 mpg and then starts moaning.
True mpg suggests if you are getting just over 20 mpg you are doing well.

You have a very strange view of the car world !
You obviously didn't look at any of the real-world mpg sites prior to buying the car and trusted a car dealer when he said it was economical.
This has got to be one of the funniest threads on the forum this week, you have my congratulations.
I also have a print out for this car when it was checked with Audi, where faults clearly show up, but I will not reveal it here due to oncoming legal proceedings. Car has been connected to the computer and shows several faults.0 -
So if you have legal proceedings in place why raise it here? Especially as you are only able to give a fraction of the story?0
-
It's amazing how quickly you can launch legal proceedings on a Saturday evening.2

You can't just wait until the last moment, keeping it a secret, and then suddenly springing it on them. That only happens on TV. It's in your interests to get your evidence out in the open straightaway to save time and costs. Either your evidence is worthless - in which case you'd want to delay revealing it - or it's persuasive - in which case you want it out in the open ASAP.As somebody who was born and brought up on an island myself, I'm curious why you need to keep taking a ferry to buy cars? Hebrides? Ireland? Isle of Man? I assume you bought the car in the UK?
