I did my research before buying this car, so Please avoid this stupid assumptions.
Seen many adverts at that website showing different mpg and fuel consuption for the same car where the car details is based on the registration plate or VIN, so how come that same car advertised by few differet sellers can have different fuel consumption.
I don't know who all You are but looking at Your responses seems that You are all selling cars and are some kind of traders or dealers. You all never pointed out any Consumer legislation here that could be breached.
Car's been with Audi and I know what I can think abt this car.
Drive 60-70 miles in EFFICIENT mode and taking 12L/100KM is allright?
Go to Youtube and type Audi S8 D4 fuel consumption and You will see what it shows, figures in them movies are far less.
I can't post the Youtube links in here cause I'm newly registered user.
All research is at the end of the day sort of fake news and data and what the true is that there's no real information abt the fuel consumption.
Bot new car someone said here. No it is not new car, it's 5 years old car.
I'm not complaining abt the car, but have my rights to say that all the information in the advert and allover the inthernet is not real and not honest.
If You can't provide me with detailed information why I can't return this car then close this tread and keep Your own thoughts to Yourselves.

I genuinely thought you were having a laugh. If fuel consumption is something important to you, you shouldn't have been looking at something with a turbocharged 4.0 engine. 12L/100KM is over 20MPG... that is pretty good going.

As you've been driving diesel cars maybe you aren't aware but the fuel consumption of an equivalent sized petrol engine is much lower. You'll achieve 60MPG easily in an A3 2.0 TDI but you should expect half of that on an identical 2.0 TFSI.
  • OP I gave a link to Real Life mpg perhaps you should have looked there first.
Why are you quoting l/100km?  Where are you?  Ireland?
That is 24 mpg which would appear to be above average.
You throw your toys out the pram accusing everyone on here of being dealers, don't be !!!!!!.  All credibility is now shot and you should perhaps take your dad with you to keep you right the next time.

    Ah, you are funny.

Oh, well, there we go. Some Youtuber says otherwise. There we are, then. BTW, the D4 S8 was in production for six years, with two different power levels, covering a variety of required emissions standards, and with a variety of options which would affect weight, aerodynamics and rolling resistance. So, yes, it's entirely possible that even official figures over the entire production period would have changed from precise spec to precise spec. And guesstimating fuel consumption based on 60 miles is never going to produce anything approaching an accurate figure. Brim-to-brim over several tankfuls.

    Yours is a 2015 car?
Here's the official figures. I've assumed summer 2015 as a reg date.
    https://carfueldata.vehicle-certification-agency.gov.uk/search-new-or-used-cars.aspx?vid=849855

    Urban 20.8mpg, extra-urban 38.7mpg, combined 29.4mpg.
That would have been measured under the NEDC test...

Part one is the urban cycle.
Part two is the extra-urban cycle.
The full thing forms the combined figure.
It's done under controlled conditions on a laboratory rolling road.
  • "but the fuel consumption of an equivalent sized petrol engine is much lower."
Pedant alert! No, the consumption is higher. MPG could be lower though.

You know what I will answear my own initial question myself, cause I only get things about my research.

The 'Sale & supply of goods: your consumer rights'  guide gives more information on your rights and which remedy you are entitled to.

The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 prohibit commercial practices that are unfair to consumers. If a trader misleads you, fails to disclose an important fact or engages in an aggressive commercial practice and you make a decision to purchase a vehicle that you would not otherwise have done, they may be in breach of the Regulations. For example, a trader may fail to inform you that the vehicle has previously been accident-damaged or may claim it is 'sold as seen' to avoid their responsibilities to you. If you have been misled or a trader has behaved aggressively, report your complaint to the Citizens Advice consumer service for a referral to trading standards.

If you enter into a contract because a trader misled you or because the trader used an aggressive commercial practice, the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 also give you rights to redress: the right to unwind the contract, the right to a discount and the right to damages. These rights are in addition to rights you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. The 'Misleading & aggressive practices: rights to redress'  guide gives more information.

    More:

What do we mean by ‘unsatisfactory’?

Simply put, any physical goods – including cars - must be: of satisfactory quality; fit for particular purpose; and as described. If any of these apply, you can reject the vehicle within 30 days of taking delivery of it.

Importantly, the Act includes any discussions you’ve had with the dealer. So if you tell the salesperson that fuel economy is important to you and you find the real world fuel economy falls short of what you were told to expect, this is a breach of the Act.

This makes it important to explain your needs very clearly to the dealer, preferably in writing; by doing so you are giving yourself an extra layer of protection against being sold an inappropriate or mis-described vehicle.

Where in this case I was informed that car is economic stated by the seller, where actually at the end of the day car is not economic and as You all say it is a real gasoline monster. That's how I understand it.  There're some cases similiar to mine so I hope that the trader will make a good decision in my favour.

    Topic can be closed.

It can be, but it won't be just because you want it to be closed.  This forum doesn't work like that.

Just to add it would have been better to put the £2500 in a bank account and then use it to top up your fuel cost. I doubt the next car you buy will save you the £2500 over the next 4 years.
Sorry but I do apx 1000 miles per week, so it would not do me for 4 years. Thank You for Your advice.

You have a very strange view of the car world !
You obviously didn't look at any of the real-world mpg sites prior to buying the car and trusted a car dealer when he said it was economical.
This has got to be one of the funniest threads on the forum this week, you have my congratulations.
