One alternative, though not anything like as easy to use, is Google.
If you type a barcode number into the shopping section, you get something like
    https://www.google.co.uk/shopping/product/2490619754801269471?biw=1900&bih=1301&sxsrf=ALeKk03pTwblWHyngHjgI9Haysrbeg8Wcw:1583069675976&q=5010029204247&oq=5010029204247&prds=paur:ClkAsKraX17jsNPafyroqtW2hdOPWSTnSOHjzGY9GjUd1XNYmn4B0DGwBnD6fZ4RUi6ZifnMG1RDZNqa2uQAAhJhd_xdVoSyzdnT_9pRKkuaRSxT4vvPXDlb-xIZAFPVH70ptmoIEw8JhHLRPxX1s2kGAH-e0Q&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiG3_qRsvnnAhXAQEEAHShSABUQ3q4ECD8#online
Which tells you the price of this product at Sainsburys, Morrisons, and Waitrose. I'm pretty sure Asda and Tesco sell it, but it doesn't come up.

Aldi and lidl shopping means you don't need to check prices anymore and if you want a branded item we all go to b&m and the likes now.
B&M isn't always cheaper. MySupermarket has sometimes told me in the past that I can get the item cheaper at the Morrisons next door.

    SPECIAL NOTICE

The mySupermarket website will close down on 1 March 2020.  We are attempting to find someone to take over the site and have set ourselves until 30 April 2020 to do so.  Accordingly:

    1. if we succeed in finding someone to take over the site by 30 April 2020, all data we hold about registered site users will be transferred to the new owners who will use it for the same purposes that we hold it – to operate the website with its various services and, in this case, we will post more notices about what is happening; or
    2. if we do not succeed in finding someone to take over the site by 30 April 2020, all data we hold about registered site users will be deleted on that date because the purposes for which we hold it will no longer exist.

This came as a real shock today, when I couldn't load results for a product comparison and googled for a possible cause.
Such disappointing news, I based my weekly shopping judging on prices of certain products and shopped around a lot, without physical trips to the shops. it was a fabulous, convenient app and it will be greatly missed. I wish there was an alternative.... and I wish the reason was disclosed🤷‍♀️.

Is the proposed data transfer GDPR compliant? Wouldn't consent to continue be the first big customer-facing task? And if you have to go to the trouble to do that, why not ask for a subscription fee at the same time?

61 days to find a new host for something that is useful but unprofitable is a big ask.

I won't miss it massively but am sorry it's gone. I always found it was limited in comparison as so many shops that were listed didn't show any prices although I know they sold the product. Also I don't buy much in the way of brands.
I don't agree with the poster who relies on B&M for the best price. That's definitely not the case.
I'll stick to Aldi for the majority of my shopping and hope that I notice in my newspaper when there's 25% off wine! 😁
This board can help to by posting when we see good reductions.

Great site for everything from beans to booze. Was my alert for when supermarkets had 25% off wine.
