  • Lots have this with Love Holidays. Was this a package with an ATOL certificate? What does the certificate say? If so your problem is with Love Holidays not Ryanair. Ryanair’s flight went so they have no obligation to refund you. But if the package couldn’t go ahead Love Holidays should refund the whole amount not just the hotel. If it isn’t a package then your only hope for flights is insurance

No sorry you misunderstand me,first holiday booked and paid for 6 months  before due to go.then wife booked another one but just with a deposit and pay monthly option.so as we paid last payment we where still traveling.if we new how bad at refunding people we wouldn't have booked any with them.also we thought they was a travel agent because they were a offering both accommodation and flights together.but when asked about the flight refund they said see ryanair.

Hi,just wondering if anybody has experienced the same as our family.we booked a holiday in may to tenerife through love holidays.it was cancelled.took a long time but eventually got a refund for the accommodation and then one for the flights off ryanair. In the mean time the wife booked another holiday to Furventura, this was for august 15 for 10 days.(wedding anniversary)this again was through love holidays.2 weeks approx before we were due to fly out love holidays emailed me and said spain had gone back into lock down and the holiday had been cancelled.again we could choose ,rebook, voucher or cash.we choose cash as with work didn't know what was happening yet.we heard nothing off ryanair at all, then at the last minuet got an email saying that we needed to fill in some forms before flying and wear a mask for the full flight.i did try and amend the flights for this year but they wanted 700 pounds extra which i didn't have.they hadn't paid the first refund yet.i have spoken and emailed Ryanair numerous times but they say "we still flew out" so no refund is due.is there any thing else i can do as i think losing nearly £1300 is a bit much.after all if we had flown out we had no where to stay.very dissatisfied with ryanair and will never use them again.sorry its very long winded

I wouldn't direct your anger at Ryanair - at the end of the day if they still flew out and you didn't board (for whatever reason) this isn't their problem.
Ryanair flights aren't just for holidaymakers, there's also residents / people travelling for work; so ultimately if the flight left but you chose not to fly (or couldn't) this isn't their issue.
You need to check what kind of package holiday was booked - certain types cover you for a full refund inc flights regardless of what Ryanair say (Love Holidays will have to pick up the tab) but others don't.

not sure if that is a typo and you meant to type "very dissatisfied with Love Holidays"
You did not book with Ryanair and in line with other airlines they don't issue refunds unless the flight is actually cancelled. (I assume this was the case with your first cancellation) If the flight is not cancelled and you have an ATOL certificate showing you booked a package through Love Holidays then it is LH that should be refunding you (not Ryanair)...how many people was the £1,300 on Ryanair flights for? or is this the total cost of the holiday and you are still waiting for accommodation refund also?
Plenty posts on the board regarding Love Holidays...you are not the only one having issues with them. First check is whether you were booked as a package, otherwise the elements are separate and you should be dealing with your travel insurance.

As I read between the lines, for that second booking you actually did not do anything.  Ryanair informed you of new travel requirements, you explored options to move flight but did not do so, flight presumably operated but you had elected not to travel on it.  If this is basically what happened then Ryanair won't be refunding you.

Westin,as i put in the earlier post i did look at moving the flights for the same time but in 2021.they want an extra £700 pounds to move them, which i hadn't got at the time.i hadn't received any monies back off either l/holidays or ryanair by this time for my first cancellation in may.yes your right we didn't travel on the flights because l/holidays had cancelled the holiday.i don't get why ryanair would carry on with flights to that country when it was in lock down or am i missing some thing?i presume they seam to do what ever they want.

Because some people have got a legitimate reason to Travel other than a Holiday.

Spanish people returning home People travelling for work need planes.
Ryanair is not a holiday airline. They are a commercial airline which keep flying.
They only refund if the flight is cancelled.
  • Apologies if this has already been raised previously but I have been in communication with First Choice regarding my special family trip to Dominican Republic in July 2021. I booked this in January 2020 before we had even heard of covid of the pandemic. I have asked them to consider not charging me a cancellation fee due to my financial status (fully self-employed and against the law to work in Scotland). I have told them I need the money I have saved for this trip to live on. They told me that they couldn't waive the rest of the deposit I still need to pay to walk away as it's unfair to their other customers. However, they seem to have a rule that if you booked a holiday during the pandemic (from Dec 2022) onwards that you can change your holiday for free up until Oct 2021. How is that fair? Why would you book a holiday as lockdown is imminent and during lockdown. Is there any way that Martin Lewis can approach TUI about this and how would I go about this? Going by their twitter page there are other people in the same boat finding this policy ridiculous. I would like to cancel given my financial situation but I would at a push consider moving to 2022 instead to give me a bit of breathing space.
