I have a holiday booked to Florida in September with Virgin and have so far only paid the deposit. We were planning to attend the theme parks, and I would imagine things will not be as enjoyable and back to normal by the time the holiday comes. I am erring on the side of cancelling but will obviously lose my deposit. Has anyone had similar experiences or advice.
How much deposit  how much balance,  what method of payment did you use?

Paid £500 deposit (including set upgrade) with Amex, £3k left to pay. We also flying out of one London airport and into the other and given Virgins announcements concerning no longer serving one of them i guess they will be trying to change our flights arrangements (airport) and wonder if this may be a good grounds for cancelling without penalty

It they want to change an airport, then you have the right to reject it and ask for a refund.
A different airport would be classed as a major change.

I'm watching Virgin.  Flight booked for the end of June from Gatwick, I'm just waiting on the cancellation of the flight - it's a daily routine of checking the flight status!!

Booked flights through crystal travel for 28th april with virgin this was cancelled. So we asked for a refund. They said no the airlines ate giving vouchers only. So we did a section 75 with amex to claim back. Well today we have a call from crystal saying we can have the refund but minus £50 cancellation fee per person..  but we didn't cancel.  Do we just have to accept this.

Is the fee in their T&Cs?

: Please note that some fares are non-refundable from the time they are booked but in some cases airlines will accept cancellation with a cancellation fee. If cancellation is allowed by the airline an additional admin fee would collected be Crystal Travel, this is in addition to any fees charged by your airline.  This is the terms stated  on their website. Surely that would only apply if we cancelled. But we disnt the airline did. I've googled and searched but cant find anything online , apart from martin lewis saying we should get full refunds but he says nothing about a fee.

My wife and I booed with Tui for package holiday to Tenerife. It was cancelled 6 weeks ago. Tui have refunded £100 deposit we paid with credit card . They have not refunded the rest we paid with credit card via PayPal. When I get through to them on phone they said PayPal payments are delayed. Anyone else having this problem ? Btw this is my first post.

You could ask PP to see if they are delaying payments or know anything about it.

  • Whizz Air have reopened flights from U.K. I have flights booked directly with them in May. They are refusing to refund as they haven’t cancelled the flights, even though FCO advise is not to travel. I can cancel at a cost of £120! Surely they can’t be allowed to do this. I do have travel insurance and have emailed them to see if I’m covered with no reply. What rights do I have. I also have friends who were travelling with me who didn’t take out insurance.
