Afternoon all,Today I'm flying off list due to unexpected messes, but thank you for it anyway Natty - I'll try to catch up later.Just as we were about to leave (and I mean we were getting shoes on etc) for the school run, DS2 accidentally kicked over the cat's water jug in the bathroom again after cleaning his teeth. We were late for school as I had to mop it all up before we could leave and then dry DS2 and my own socks etc too as they were all soaked. Got home from the school run and walked into the living room and caught a nasty smell of cat wee. After investigating, found that LBF had weed on the rug. So I've spent the morning/afternoon cleaning it with our George after using up all the pet stain remover spray. I thought I'd got rid of it all (cleared the patch I could see), but have just hung the rug over the banister to dry, and smelled some more wee on the opposite corner (this rug is made from an off-cut of carpet and is nearly the size of our living room, so a huge thing to clean)
Looks like I've got more cleaning to do when it dries. I think I need to get one of those black lights to find out where all the patches are, as although I've gone over the entire rug with a solution of biological detergent and hot water, I obviously need something stronger.

HB... try sterident tablets.. works for false teeth! and this house was like that when we moved in too.. it was hideous. I really need to get back on the wagon because I cant bear living like this.. I'm really struggling with zero energy.. the mind is willing the body needs putting in a black bag and burying. I do seem to be the only person who is bothered by or even notices the mess.ty for Fred.. WB SGT..I am up to date with laundry and the girls are fed.. OH did the DW and put out the recycling and had bought the bits to fix the car.
OH wants to take the girls out for dinner before school tomorrow but first I have some jobs for him.. I want the back room rejiggling.. I am hoping to eventually get a wall mounted electric fire for in there I think so I need everything wiggling about and try to make it reasonable.. and just typing that i lost the will to actually do it.. this is why it hasn't been touched for 6 months!
I need to make opticians appointments for Moomin and Squeak.
I got a letter from dr's asking me to make an appointment.. I've been trying to do that since December.. there simply are none by the time I get through and they won't prebook one unless you require an interpreter .. it costs too much to get and interpreter to advise patients of this so the prebookable ones are given to them leaving none for anyone else which makes it impossible for those who work or who cannot get to the surgery at 8am because you cannot get through on the phone until all appointments for that day are gone.

That was an interesting experiment!
Put pens in pencil case.
Put pencil case in box
Seal box
Do not touch for 17 years.
Result: When you open the box most of the pens won't work. Pencils still work lol. And P@perm@te pens still work -you obviously get what you pay forEverything else had dried up and has been f-lung
Every little helps

Well after another round of trying to clean the rug, I've called DH at work (he sells carpets), asked him which would be cheaper - to get it professionally cleaned, or to replace the rug, and hopefully he's going to get us a replacement rug so finger crossed LBF doesn't wee on the new one. Unfortunately the carpet we had has been discontinued, so it won't be the same, but it was a nightmare to hoover anyway, so if the replacement is different, it may not be such a bad thing anyway.

I've been doing kitchen bits over the day, it's that time of the month where I clean absolutely everything in the kitchen (one of my least favourite jobs). I've done level 1, level 3, some extras (cleaning out my pantry and my plastics cupboard and baking cupboard). I'm having a break before I start on my cookware cupboard, plate and glass cupboard and drawers. Then I'll have another break before I do the windows, window sills and small appliances and will do all the tiles after dinner.
My mother is coming over this evening to clean out my oven for me. I'm highly allergic to oven cleaner so she either does it in the evening after I've had dinner and no longer need to go into the kitchen for anything, or when I'm out for the day. I'm thinking of trying some homemade oven cleaners that I can use but am concerned that they won't work as well. The windows will be left open overnight so the kitchen can air out and the oven cleaner smell can dissipate. I'll do the floors tomorrow morning after breakfast.
I'll need a rest day tomorrow to recover but it will be totally worth it.11 -
Round, I keep my dishbrush/scraper thingummy in an old crock jamjar by the side of the sink. If I used rubber gloves regularly (and I hardly ever do) , I think I might keep two long-handled wooden spoons in the same jar and make a feature of the rubber gloves by putting them on the spoons like puppets-onna-stick - you could even add googly eyes to them and look upon them as your pet chickens!!!!
Are we all mad, or it just me???9 -
I didn’t exactly complete round 2. I did some shredding, had lunch and gathered a few bits for the cs. I did go and do a food shop with DH though.
I have cleared the houseplants from the windowsill in the utility and they are now dotted around the LR, after having some water and dead bits removed. The clean propagator is now in their place, waiting to be plugged in and for seeds to be sown 😊 I may do that tomorrow.
Tonight is the final session of the couch 2 5k, which means a time trial. Then it will be home for a shower and some TV before bed. Tomorrow I have a quieter day of just one 2 yr old. I think it will be messy play and an early nap rather than toddler group. I may do some toy sorting while he sleeps.
Have a good evening everyone 😁8 -
Hi all I'm as in as I can be
Thanks to Valli and natty for the threads.
I've managed to do all the beer mats from work and a few loads of my own washing today. Just got the paperwork I need for meeting tomorrow ready. That's been it oh! I did Declutter a bag of chocolate I found in my handbag too. Off to do some more somfaI'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged8 -
did nothing. 3 times I opened the dryer to get the dry stuff out and closed the door again leaving it all in there.. I lost an hour to a nap.. was only 20 minutes but I just couldn't wake up properly.
Took girls out for dinner before school tomorrow and just got them to bed. Boog is shovelling litter trays, OH has put out the bins and the wind is very windy!
I need to find uniforms and GUAG for tomorrows school runs etc. I am starting to think I have some awful debilitating as-yet-undiagnosed condition causing this... could be a million things I guess.
eye tests to book tomorrow and Boog has a hospital appointment I think on Wednesday.. might be another week.. but I can check that online.

Thanks Natty and Valli for the lists, this new forum is definitely not as user-friendly as the old one, I don't even go searching for anything now, I bookmark a few threads I follow and that's it. I managed a few items on the list, kitchen is not in too bad a state atm.
Round I drape my rubber gloves over the WUL bottle and the sponge is placed on the draining board. I have seen some little holders that stick to the sink with suction cups, maybe that's an idea or if you have tiles all around you could hang a larger basket.
