mothernerd said:apple_muncher said:So pleased you talked with someone who knew the system well enough to find another person's mistake, mothernerd.Today I am grateful for catching up with a colleague and making changes to a proposal so that we both are happy with it, for a good mentoring session, for baked potato and tuna mayo, for my hoodie, for good journeys to and from work, for tvs now having a remote control (anyone else remember having to get up to change channel?)
And thumping it when it didn't work - our first telly (when I was about five) didn't have an aerial - it worked off a nail hammered into the back. Also had those aerials where you have to moove about to get a signal (sometimes having to move to a different position if you change the channel). Both channels that is and then whoopee 3 of them and they went off at 11pm (10pm for BBC2). Getting buttons to change the channel was areal improvement, before that we had to turn a dial (the same with the radio).

Evening allPleased to hear that you have spoken to someone who knows what they are doing with regard to your tax credits Mothernerd. Hoping for a good outcome for you. The system seems to be so opaque and to cause people so many problemsIt is rainy today, and cold, but it definitely feels more springlike, looking forward to better weather and lighter evenings.Managed a NSD yesterday, but not today, as I bought some items needed to do some batch cooking, so 1 / 15 at the moment. Walked into town this morning, a couple of miles there and back so a worthwhile bit of exercise, and saved fuel. I always try to walk unless I have too much to carry and / or trundle in my trolley.Renewed my freezer inventory this afternoon, so I know exactly what I have in.All meals from home, which is normal for usGrateful today for the end of winter being almost in sight, spring bulbs, and the pair of pretty little doves that we feed every day in the garden.

Wednesday check in, today was NSD 3/15, but I may regret that if we run out of milk in the morning 😂. Had a productive day, batch cooked in the slow cooker, made soup, took the dog for a decent walk, met up with a friend, volunteered with a group and decluttered a very messy corner!
Gratitudes- good friends, cups of tea, the sun shining, my now tidy corner (if only the rest of the house matched it).

Mental Wellness Day 4What are your top three intentions for each day and how are you going to meet them.- be happy, find joy in the smallest things (especially if the big things don't offer joy)- be fed properly/healthily- give kindness; everyone is better off that way.Today I'm grateful for:- a lovely walk in the dark last night with dd2! A friend had lost some keys during a walk through the village, and as dd1 was having dinner over there, she helped look for them. It was after dinner, as it was only then that is when it was discovered. So, I decided to help look for the keys, and invited dd2 along. We did not find the keys, we didn't even find the search party looking for the keys, but dd2 had great fun turning the torch on a mobile phone on and off, walking through the small dark lanes, looking at the lit houses, and being spooked by the trees!- lovely work colleagues, who are all absent this morning- facetime. My father and I had a chat last night; he has broken his wrist, tripping over a loose tile in the pavement

Feeling a little bit deflated today!
Trying to declutter my DS room, it’s packed with stuff he’ll never play with. His Nan has sent him a parcel today with more things he’ll never use or play arghhhhh!
Found his portable DVD player hardly used a great item to sell on eBay/Fb but I can’t find the charger anywhere grrrrr!
Trying to be careful what I am spending but need £2 for swimming for DS tomorrow (yes he’s going). Another £1 for non uniform day. Not massive amounts but it’s just never ending.....
NSD - 4/15
We can’t do our family walk as DS at football & cubs tonight.Sorry Turtles, not a great post from me today! Will try harder tomorrowLightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£26010 -
Hugs Badbookeeper, the 'stuff' gets to us all at times.Ironically I posted about good sleep habits on a night when I failed to get to sleep. Thankfully it's now quite rare - was 2 or 3 times a week, a year ago. Took milk, cash and bag of stuff for mummy of twins with me to mum's. Did a massive pill shuffle, paracetemol into a 'jar' (instead of mum having to get them out of the foil, stocked up the pill tin (current), shoebox (pills to use next - mostly to be used withing the next two months but as the daily dose adds up to many pills only one pack of each goes in the tin and extra - We can only get them from the hospital pharmacy when we go to mum's neurology apppointment, every 4 months atm. Cupboard neat and tidy now , with a little bit of extra space.Wrote a note for mummy of twins to go with the bag of goodies and added all my old sharpies - have been using them to refresh some of mum's garden ornaments.Went to mum's appointment, dropped the cleaner off on the way. Very good interesting appointment (change of dressing plus ulcer review). Checked mum's circulation (may need another in depth study - nurse sending info to our GP), took a swab (in case there is any infection), good strong heartbeat evident, just struggling at the site of the injury (nothing to worry about for now but won't use compression until it's checked out further). We are down to weekly dressing changes now which should make a lot of difference.Been home since 4 pm (had to help an old man find the toilet at the doctor's surgery whilst waiting for our taxi) but not done anything of note. Lots to do but think I will sleep now and make an early start tomorrow.Today I am grateful that there is nothing wrong with mum's heart (mine too), for ticking off varied items on a complicated list (brought back a piece of embroidery, some good clothes and the cabbage and carrots that didn't get chopped up for coleslaw) and sunshine and warmth. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9
