Well popped out at lunchtime, shelves empty, shops are eerie so quiet, fair few people in them as well. Joined the madness and got odd few tins, more tea and cereals.Hoping all large gatherings are banned today as my gig in Royal Albert Hall is still on next Weds. I cancelled my hotel yesterday, won't risk spreading infection to anyone I know.I went to the gym yesterday, nice and quiet, lots of hand sanitizer about. For whole hour I didn't think of C.V. at all. Keep busy way forward. Got asked on a swim date this week, if the pool remains open, should be interesting. lolAwait daily nominations for the most outrageous response should be interesting. Bound to be some slip ups. Trying to avoid lot of media at the moment, just making me anxious.Grateful forTea - solves most problemsOffice of my own.TV dramas and hot baths. Evening everyone
Like others trying hard to find things to be grateful for at the moment. Our boss has advised us all to work from home. DD1 is still at work and she works in a school, a lot of parents are not sending their children into school at the moment though. I went to my exercise class yesterday but we expect it to be the last one and the teacher will do classes online. I went shopping at lunch time. I don't usually have much spare in the cupboards and shop every few days. Got most stuff i wanted including fresh veg in greengrocers and pasta and porridge oats in minimum waste shop.
Gratitudes:
Nice weather to get washing dry
Being able to work from home, still getting paid and saving money on petrol
friend's son who sells me eggs from his hens which he delivers to my door

I wish I could have fresh eggs, Deni!Today I am grateful for getting things done, for my counsellor, for a good meeting with a dep head at dd's sch, for getting a really good gym session done and going swimming later with dd, for dh doing 95% of all the washing up, for the cherry blossom making beautiful carpets as it falls, for the waft of hyacinth as I approach the front door (Not that the door smells, it's the bulbs I have in the garden!), for a good talk with big sis, for a friend being back home after being hospitalised with CV, for reading the news in the French and Spanish newspapers and realising that we're not the only nation of hoarders.

Set the machine off and had everyone looking for the crying kitten. Switched off as soon as I realised but she sat looking at me and mewling constantly for the (very long) three minutes I had to wait until I could open the door.Didn't stop her thinking it was a really good place for a nap - had to check every time.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7

Went to the library and asked about fines. I can keep the 15 books I got today for 3 weeks and renew online twice but that only gives me 9 weeks. they told me not to worry about the fines, people will understand. Got a ticket for the Council advice Centre (in the library). Only one customer in there and about 6 assistants (one was wiping her desk). Explained the lockdown and did mum lose her single person discount for the 12 weeks. Brief consultation and then they told me it was fine - I'm only required to tell them, they've made a decision, not pursuing it as I don't have time.Looked at the reconditioned washing machine place but couldn't see any tall freezers (they have them occasionally), bought a few things from the community shop (lots of soft fruit, more part baked rolls to throw in mum's shed).Packed for mum's - 15 large print library books, bits from the community shop, one bag of food from my shelves (taking anything they can't/ won't use - beloved doesn't do lentils). One layer of tinned beans (butter, canellini, black eye) and chick peas, 3 packs of green lentils and 3 wholemeal basmati (they have white), olive oil from my d-i-l's parent's trees, one bag of pills (prescription and over the counter - have 3 months hayfever tablets phew) plus bandages, witch hazel, micropore tape, suncream (to use as moisturiser) and Goth Bunny (just because).Mum was full of suggestions about things to buy (condensed milk but her friend told her that was sold out). She could make pies if I bought roll out pastry, people wouldn't have bought all the roll out pastry, would they? Like I know what idiot people will or won't buy. Have asked if she can eat her cereal with yoghurt on it.Wrote a letter to shove through her cousin's door, giving her my new phone number, put money in and asked if she will use it to put flowers on 4 family graves and told her we are going into lockdown. Broke it to mum that we should cancel the hairdresser and her Saturday visitors - said they can come if it's nice and they can sit on a garden chair on the far side of the path and she can sit in her 'hall way'. We will put a cup of tea outside when we see them arrive and they can drop it in a bucket afterwards and we will pour boiling water on it. probably going to phone to cancel Thursday's district nurse appointment if no one contacts us first. Was going to try pottering to Morries this evening but am sooo tired. Adding to my 'shopping' list as I go along and will try to do it efficiently (it includes things to make repairs and innersoles for my boots to keep them wearable).Just keep plodding turtles.Today I am grateful for the library and its staff (cinema club is cancelled along with any other group activities at the library), for workers who have no idea how things are going to pan out but are sympathetic and helpful, for having a logical mind (I am asking the right questions but I seem to be ahead of the game). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7

Still on NSD 3, which is not great. Not due to massive quantities of shopping by any means, but things like presents (lots of family birthdays this month, but all budgeted for), paying the milkman, oddments like seed potatoes etc. Can't believe it is the 17th already! Trying not to look at news apps too often, as it is easy to get consumed by it, but still want to know what is going on, as the situation is so fast moving. Grateful for a couple of nice days where it has been possible to dry washing outside, and spend time in the garden6
