Not a NSD today but only tiny spend from budget. Gratefuls:
beautiful flowering Camilla in the garden just coming in to bloom
DH getting paid
being able to finish my monthly money shuffle and get the budgets straight.9 -
Thursday - NSD 8/15, seems to be going well but I suspect the next few days will all involve spending so can't see my number increasing for a while.
Been at work a lot, so no decluttering done but I have dropped off a rag bag at the collection point.
Gratitudes- schools not closing (I'm a single parent, my job cannot be done from home and I can't see how my employer can be expected to pay me full wages if I'm not there, DD is too young to stay at home alone so I have no clue what will happen if schools close for a month), mugs of tea, the diesel price sneaking down a bit!

well done abundant. Good luck in your new role.
Here’s my update -
Trying to use up things but thinking I really should stock up the freezer and cupboards what’s everyone else doing?Budgets - mostly ok, shopping & fuel a little under, budgets to buy my dads birthday things on track, spendy spends a bit stretched but ok.
Exercise - Walked DS to school this morning and walked back home for my car to drive to work so 1/2 mile walked towards our March target leaving 22.76 to do.
R&R - didn’t realise how stressed I’m getting over silly things brain a bit mushy and little tasks seem overwhelming. Phoned HMRC as there claiming I owe them £184, I just don’t understand how. The lady was so rude I could have cried I found it really frustrating! Also think I’m being a bit put on by parents needing lifts for their kids and I’m chasing them to confirm if needed or not. Itching to get away in the campervan too cold yet but it’s just what I think I need at the moment.
No decluttering done today will aim for 2 sections tomorrow
Mass media - DM online at 7am this morning said ‘Boris to announce closure of schools today’ I’ve worried about this all day, then it didn’t happen!!Need to wait for school to contact me and until then I will not worry about it.
NSD - Thought I could report a NSD as my mum gave me some money to sort a cake for my dad as she’s not up to it. So it was her money I spent. Then I remembered I bought DH some hand cream he’s always been a hand washer but his work have changed the soap to cheap stuff and his hands are all sore now!!
Gratitudes -
Friendly, helpful guy at azda who helped me do a photo cake, getting the cake done ( I was stressing) a pleasant sunny morning
Charity - Feel bad about forgetting to buy something for food bank in azda. I even checked the list for what was needed!!Wow how much do I ramble!! Charity - Feel bad about forgetting to buy something for food bank in azda. I even checked the list for what was needed!!Wow how much do I ramble!! Sorry will try to keep it short in future! We had an email from school yesterday outlining their plans, my kids are in Y9 and Y11, they said Y11 and Y13 would stay in school above everyone else due to exam work and they would try to keep Y7 there as well due to their age, this was only if staffing levels were low. I don't know what will happen with primary age children and parents that work if there is a full closure.Had a chat with DH yesterday and we have decided to turn most of our garden over to fruit and vegetables. We have plenty of space and don't need it for the kids to run about in now, we already have some fruit trees and bushes etc and plan to get going with the veg.DH had yesterday off work and is home today (they bank hours over their contracted hours and then take them off later), we went to a new zero waste shop for some pasta, coffee beans and seeds, it is handier location wise than the others we use but we found it expensive, we did a couple of DIY jobs and walked the dog.Went to the theatre with DD last night, we had a really good time and will be doing more of this sort of thing in the future I hope.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Morning all! I would like to join mid-month if that is okay? I used to dip in and out of this group last year but really need to rejoin and don't want to delay until April as I have just been signed off from one of my jobs for stress.11

Hi ponypal - welcome! Your name does sound familiar, so it's good to have you back with us. Just halve the targets and go for it!

Badbookkeeper - I'm trying not to stockpile as I think it's unfair for those who can only buy small amounts or don't have the money available to bulk buy. That said, I have today bought items for dd, as she it both coeliac and allergic to dairy. She was starting to worry about running out of her food, so I want her to see how much is in the cupboards for her. Anxiety about what she eats usually runs quite high anyway, so this is to try not to exacerbate it.I also went to aldee this morning and experienced the panic buying first hand. The queues all went nearly to the back of the store. Everyone was very good natured though - prob more so than normal. Phew. They were only allowing 2 of anything at the tills, so the 2 packs of bacon for dd and the 2 bars of choc for me went through fine!!!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

Well the crazy fairy has been and coated everyone here in her magic dust! Was in Aldee, and the man in front of me at the till had a small bunch of bananas and 18 loo roll, the woman behind me had a bunch of flowers and 18 loo roll, the one behind her had a bar of white chocolate, spring onions, and 18 loo roll. So went off to Mr T's shopping emporium, the pasta aisle was totally empty, no tinned tomatoes, no loo roll. Went to Herr Lidel for some lovely coffee and scored 2 of their £1.50 bargain boxes (yay! bananas, and blackberries, and strawberries - oh my!) and a woman came running up to me on the carpark and asked me if they had toilet rolls in there, as she had been to 3 shops already and they had all sold out. It is the toilet roll equivalent of the zombie apocalypse! Run to the hills! Utter madness.I am more concerned that ,as they are stopping testing, we will not know how many people are corvid -positive - surely not having the data means they will not be able to have reliable forecasts? A bit like sticking your fingers in your ears and humming loudly, I dunno, I have already had step-gran on the phone this morning asking me to send her masks so she can insist on everyone coming into her house has to wear one. I said no. The only people coming in are her carers and they will have better advice on dealing with the elderly and immuno-compromised, and better quality stock than whatever nonsense I can find on amazon, and the drs on tv are saying they are useless anyway. So now I am trying to bump her off. She is starting to get worried about it all, unlike last week, when she was utterly certain she was not in the high risk category. I still have a bit of a cough, so really I should self-isolate, but the kids all have to go to school, so I have to go out.Strange times, strange times. I'm off to inventorise the pantry again, and fit some new windscreen wipers. Friday fun!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
