Today I am grateful for my friends, for not getting caught in the downpours, for the rugby on the telly, for getting several pieces of hwk done with dd, for drafting a couple of short docs for work, for headspace, for clean fresh water, for Asterix the Gaul!

Evening allJust popping in to claim NSD2. Nothing spent today. Did a big lunch as DS, his lovely GF and his younger son (GS2) came round. OH cooked a huge joint of pork (special offer from the butcher a while back, it had been in the freezer), and we had slices of it in buns, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling, with HM coleslaw, half baked potatoes and salad leaves on the side. Much easier when there is company than a traditional roast dinner! After he retired early from his proper job, OH worked for a while for a butcher who did hog roasts for events, and learned to cook it really well, much better than me. I made a huge trifle for afters, and despite them eating loads (particularly GS2, who has hollow legs) there is plenty left. OH will cut up the rest of the joint and I will keep some out for tomorrow and freeze the rest I think. Spent time looking through old photos, as DS's GF wanted to see pics of DS when he was younger
Had some laughs.
Grateful today for nice food, great company and a bit of sunshine between bouts of rain!10 -
Double update today as didn’t yesterday!
NSD - still 4/15 treated family to chippy tea & a lotto ticket yesterday & food shop today
Review - our supermarket swap is working well it’s a 5 week food shop this month so hoping to stay within budget. So far so good. When it’s a four week shop hoping to see savings for a treat for ourselves.
Exercise - lagging behind here! Supposed to do a big walk today but ran out off time - must try harder especially as we have a goal for charity.
Reduce - Cleared at least 3 sections off my list to declutter ds bedroom. Bottom of wardrobe, top of wardrobe and cleaned his window. Tided other areas ready for easier sorting. Top tip - always clear visual areas first! It will spur you on!
I’ve put some games away (with DS permission) ready for car boot, some items in charity bag so that’s ready to go now. Not got rid of as much as I’d like but he is a hoarder so mostly just rearranged and tidied.
Took most of the day. Reduced my screen time and he wasn’t in his XX box as much as dry day and kicked a ball around the garden as I was in his room!
Gratitudes:
Hubby going food shopping. House cleaned & ironing done.
Having wine leftover from last night really enjoyed a glass this evening.
Charity - A bag ready to go.Bit grumpy about sending my old mobile to Muzic Magpye. Supposed give me £15 (better than nothing), however, they say it’s ‘bent’ beyond repair??!! Now worth £1.50 😂Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£26010 -
On my feet today but only for short periods - feel a bit like Bambi trying to walk for the first time. Have washed a small quilt, the bathmat (clean one brought upstairs) and some rags, done a large home delivery order for mum (had a £12 off an £80 spend to use a longish list) and a small order for here (stuff requested by DS3 and Beloved). Some work in the kitchen done, many trips to the bins and a pizza box mountain, quick trip to the shop to buy milk for mum and bagged 2 packs of ys burger buns (put them in the freezer) and two packs of 'bramley apple and cinnamon' hot cross buns - not sure if we will likw them but at 4 for 5p we can try.Today I am grateful for a pleasant sunny day (sat on the church wall on the way back from the shop and it felt really good, just a slight breeze), for easy food from the fridge (+ toast, felt like a toast day) for clearing some space. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9

I dropped a bag in at the charity shop on Saturday and she said they were at capacity but would take it as it was just one bag. I have another bag on the go so I will have to drop that somewhere else. The world is at saturation point with stuff.

NSD4 here!Light art exhibition was great, and even though I fed them before we left, they developed a terminal case of hunger after 30 minutes, but I was evil and made them wait until they got home before they could have anything else. Chancers!Lunchboxes were a cobbled together affair this morning, but as I had leftover stew and ys puff in the fridge, I got up early and made pasties with it all and have taken a loaf out of the fridge for sandwiches tomorrow - there will be mutiny. My kids are too posh for sandwiches. Apparently. I will give them the 1970's choice (take it or leave it).4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

#9 checking in. NSD 5/15.Quiet day at home but getting straight after a busy weekend is good for the rest of the week. Have visitors again tomorrow and Wednesday. Both days will be tea and biscuits at home rather than going to a coffee shop so all good. May rustle up a cake later.Lots of leftovers from yesterday which will either get eaten today or tomorrow or get frozen.More use up of face cream and hand cream. Found 2 more hand cream when tidying utility so will get added to use up pile.Budget all up to date. Started a small shopping list, wonder what day I will need to go....11
