Yes. You need a current account with the SO set up from when you opened the RS. If you want to change the amount you can with a phone call but you can't change the date.@dlevene said:Very tempted by the Nationwide switch offer and RS.
I'm assuming First Direct needs an open current account to keep their regular saver?
Edit - having reread the T&Cs, looks like I need to keep a current account with FD, but the current account has no minimum direct debits etc so I can just keep it open to feed the existing RS, right?0 -
No I meant, the current account doesn't need a certain number of SOs/DDs or minimum pay in to avoid closure or a fee or whatever?dealyboy said:

There's no DD or pay in requirements on the FD current account whatsoever, you just need to deposit into their regular saver by SO from your FD current account and that's it.dlevene said:

You are only allowed one of these. If one manages to open two they will close one of them.adindas said:What method other people use to get the second Nationwide Flex RS 8%?I tried it today this is what I get ...

I remember not too far back of having 5 Flex direct current accounts paying 5%? for a year when only 1 was permitted. It was quite common amongst MSE readers to have a few ;-)
It only took them 10 months to notice before notifying of closure of 4 so I was quite happy with my extra 40 months of interest.4 -
Ahh, the good old days when banks couldn't figure out what they were doing like the Virgin regular savers with double bubble interestWheres_My_Cashback said:

I do remember Virgin asking a few to send the money back, but I never got one of those letters. Think they realised it wasn't going to happen

I had to wait until two working days after. I tried one working day after, and it was returned to my source bank.chris_the_bee said:
It's OK. It is the way YBS operates. You will be able to pay in tomorrow, no earlier.adindas said:YBS Loyalty Regular eSaver 2023 7.0%Apply today using existing login. It took me less than five minutes and it already shows on my List of account with AC no already shown. I got this massage on the account"We're still setting up your account. Please come back tomorrow to make a deposit or change your account options. Withdrawals will be available in 14 days."0 -

Took a screenshot but to hard to black out all my details sorry.0 -
Successfully applied and opened Flex Reg Savers for myself and parents this morning after yesterday's applications (just one each) ended up with that same message about waiting for an email confirmation and trying again later (no emails came). But now, however, the account details of all three new accounts are yet to be recognised by external banks (in our cases both Barclays and Kroo). I'll wait until after 9am to see if it's a business hours thing, but yet another Nationwide fail after yesterday. No such issues with Santander's 5.2% easy access saver the other week, and that must have been a massive stampede.0
