Successfully applied and opened Flex Reg Savers for myself and parents this morning after yesterday's applications (just one each) ended up with that same message about waiting for an email confirmation and trying again later (no emails came). But now, however, the account details of all three new accounts are yet to be recognised by external banks (in our cases both Barclays and Kroo). I'll wait until after 9am to see if it's a business hours thing, but yet another Nationwide fail after yesterday. No such issues with Santander's 5.2% easy access saver the other week, and that must have been a massive stampede.0

I just set up a standing order to Nationwide from my bank and then one in nationwide to pay it.krish said:Successfully applied and opened Flex Reg Savers for myself and parents this morning after yesterday's applications (just one each) ended up with that same message about waiting for an email confirmation and trying again later (no emails came). I do this for all my regular savers.

Just in case you may have missed this, and it might be that you prefer to have your standing order going into the N'wide regular saver via your N'wide current account, but you don't need to do this, you can just have a standing order directly from your "outside" current account. I think they had used to require standing orders from their current accounts, but I can't see they stipulate it now.Bigwheels1111 said:

Some do, First Direct is through their account only.10_66 said:

Never thought of doing it any other way.
I use one bank to fund and receive payments from all savings, isa, regular savings etc.
That way only one place to complain.
Had to call their fraud department on the 19th, to send YBS first £500 payment for regular saver.
I have 5 other accounts with an emergency funds in case it get locked.
Which seems to be happening to people a lot at the moment.0 -
Tried yesterday and we both got the error, hasn't appeared yet, but if it doesn't appear will wait till the end of the month, should have done that in the first place, will get about £9.50 more in interest if account opens on 30 Sept compared to 21st! Should have thought of that in the first place. Guess there's a risk the account is withdrawn but as it's only just launched unlikely I'd have thought...poshrule_uk said:I opened my RS with Nationwide no problem but my wife has had the technical error message as well. Will wait to see if hers appear like people say it should.

Edge current account passed Halifax verification through the Confirmation of Payee system within hours ( maybe sooner) non main banks e.g Charter, Family B.S say they are unable to verify weeks later.Nick_C said:@krish
As mentioned above, it takes time for new accounts to be available for verification through the Confirmation of Payee system.

I tried 3 times to apply for Nationwides Reg Saver 8%. Nothing has been set up. I don't really want to get in contact with customer services, as I suspect at the moment they'll be very busy.
