  • Managed to open mine this morning but DH has tried twice and keeps getting an error message, despite going through the online banking joint account. Although there was an error message at the end of my application, I received an email and it was present in my list of accounts when I checked. Not for DH.

Tried on both mobile and desktop and getting same error messages.
  • Ok, so DH tried for a third time and got this message. There's been no email received and no account is listed when he logs in. Just have to leave it now.

Tried 3 times and got the "we can't go ahead with your application" error message.

Tried a 4th time and refused saying I could only have one of this type of account.

Went back to the accounts list, and the new account was there.

I think their systems are overwhelmed.
  • Am I going mad or is £1250.00 a month in Regular savers a bit over board.
    That is £15,000 a year.
No wonder I have no cash. :D
If you think that's overboard, according to my calculations I'll be paying £7821 into regular savers next month. Mine's largely just me moving my own money about since I empty EA accounts into regular savers and once they're exhausted I empty regular savers into higher paying regular savers. It could be considered overboard but I don't care as I quite enjoy it really.

EDIT: Here is my October provisional list. Everything at or below SRBS I do not plan to fully fund so shows the minimum funding:

Nationwide Flex Regular Saver - does everyone agree that there is nothing to stop us making a 13th payment on 1/9/24?  I read the T&Cs and didn't see anything about a maximum amount for the account.

He's just had the email now and his new account is there...along with a second new one. He now has two regular savers...? I thought you could only be named on one...
  • Nationwide still bombing out for me. Guess the IT team didn't plan for the demand on the computer.

Nationwide - apart from the Prize Draw, any reason to keep Start to Save Issue 2 open?  5.5% currently and a trifling monthly amount, it was on my list of accounts to close anyway.

I can see it would remain useful for non taxpayers, but I have a YBS Loyalty ISA paying 5.2%, and want to keep my taxable interest below £1000.

I will probably use Start to Save issue 2 to feed the new Flex RS for the next 3 months, and then close it.
