I sent mine 1st class on the 22nd to the head office address and have just received the passbook today's post. Letter states 'Thanks for opening..... at our Chepstow branch', and passbook shows it opened yesterday, so I presume they are sharing applications across the branches, but seem to be turning them around reasonably quickly.allegro120 said:
It might depend on the branch you sent it to. I've mine sent to Monmouth branch, it could be that some other branches are more busy.Ps3725 said:

Mine went off 1st class on 20th, passbook received today. Pretty good since new member and I'd put MonBS as payee on cheque rather than me.Ps3725 said:

With a bit of luck, you are just one day behind. I also posted my cheque 1st class to MONBS HQ on the 21st.badger09 said:

Received the passbook with cheque credited April 27. As of now, the cheque doesn't even show on my current account, not to talk about having cleared. Great service from MONBS this time round, looks they definitely have their act together on this one. Although as always.....online application, and doing away with the passbook/cheque malarky would be even better.1 -
Are you talking about this ??t1redmonkey said:Just thought I'd share some info that was mentioned to me by a branch worker when I opened the Monmouthshire BS Coronation Saver recently; they are apparently developing an app at the moment which they are hoping to release later this year, so should be a bit more convenient for those of us who prefer using apps to access their accounts

"This account is currently only available to be opened by visiting one of our Branches or Agencies. "
Are they allow the existing member to apply via post ??
Whether could be opened via app later, let see.

Print off the generic savings application form from their website, attach a cheque and send to their head office.
These fantastic Kazza instructions have been lost somewhere in this thread (a couple of times).
This is probably the reason this should have been a separate and identifiable threads days ago
For anyone wondering you need not post the day you sent off your postal application on this thread as part of the T&C3 -
Yes see above, I and many other existing customers no where near a branch have successfully applied by post

MONBSCRS - Band7 Ditto. I was beginning to worry the opening deposit wouldn`t be credited in April. Now I will have £600 in at the beginning of May. For those setting up the 11 SO`s remember to put Monmouthshire Building Society in as the name and use Business account option not personal and confirmation of payee will work. Sort code and account number can be found at front of passbook and remember to put you account number in as reference. I set up the £300 SO`s to start 1/5/23 and end 1 /3/24. I realise that the SO will not go in until the 2/5 because of the bank holiday and there will be those who do a manual payment on 1/5 to gain a couple of pence interest. Many thanks to Kazza who flagged this all up! For those still waiting I think there is a reasonable chance their opening deposit will be credited in April if they posted off about a week ago. Then they will still be able to make 2nd deposit at the beginning of May albeit one or two days late. Congratulations to MONBS and Royal Mail for an efficient service.

I can see my £3 cheque credited, but £297 transfer I've made this morning is not showing, I fear it might be a cash drag until 2nd May, however my previous deposits to MON-Christmas at weekends were credited on the same day.Band7 said:

Will process overnight and show tomorrow as credited today. MON FPs never show until the next day.allegro120 said:
