The reported increase for the Stafford Railway Building Society Regular Saver Issue1 to 3.75% variable from 1st January 2023 now confirmed on their website https://srbs.co.uk/savings/detail/regular-saver-issue-1

Funny how things pan out, this was one of my top payers when I opened it in August, now languishing in the relegation places despite the increase!
Looks like I'll be putting £500 into SRBS on 31/12/22 then. Followed by another £500 the next day. Glad I kept this account in my collection now.
The 31st is a Saturday - are you sure they will credit your account in December?
If my memory serves me correctly the general Ts&Cs seem to suggest that the payment won't show in online banking straight away but interest will be backdated. To make sure I'm going to do a £1 test payment on 24th. If it goes through alright I'll deposit £499 on 31st, if not the £499 will be deposited on 30th instead.
Scrap that. I've located my passbook and I did make a deposit to my SRBS regular saver dated Saturday 1st October 2022 so any payments sent on 31st December should go through alright.

Some of my payments from Chase to Regular Savers have been processed by the recipients on weekends and bank holidays, but they don't always go through consistently.

I wouldn't risk sending a payment to a RS on Saturday 31st, but I do have a couple scheduled for Sunday 1st, and others (Lloyds group) scheduled for 3rd.

For those still waiting for the MONBS Xmas RS  I'm told that they are working on them in order received and today are dealing with applications received on the 6th Dec. Anything received prior to that should have been dealt with.
My cheque was cashed today so I won't keep asking about it

I sent my application off the day after it launched.

Application form and cheque sent 25th Nov
    Cheque cleared 9th Dec.
Pass book arrived today 22nd Dec.
    hallelujah!!!! Christmas has arrived.

The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

You might get positively surprised when you receive your passbook as the date they credit the cheque doesn't necessarily have much to do with the date the cheque got cashed.

My Xmas saver cheque was cashed on the 14th but the passbook, which I received on the 20th with a letter dated the 9th, shows the initial £200 deposit on the 2nd of December.

MONBS Xmas RS - Liamcov - no more "peeps"!
Band7 - If we all have your luck and get our £200 cheques marked up as deposited 2 weeks earlier than when cashed, then Xmas has arrived early! This will ameliorate the anguish of having kept £200 in a current account earning no interest for a few weeks (Yes I`m joking!)

Did you not spot the final line in my post? But yes, your suggestion fits the bill perfectly.

MonBS pass book has arrived, but I can't see where to find the sort code/ account number so I can arrange a SO from my current account.

It should be on the inside front cover:
    Sort code: 400530
    Account number: 14576608
Use your account number as a reference number.
