Regular Savings Accounts: The Best Currently Available List!

I am not suprised at the high demand for the Coventry FHS. The £1000 maximum monthly contribution, instant access with no penalty, the 36 month to maturity (37 monthly deposits are possible giving a maximum maturity value of £37K plus interest) and obviously the promise of 5% interest starting in a few weeks time made this account a "good one". Thanks to the MSE stalwarts for pointing out that you can own many properties as long as you are helping a family member save up to buy their first home. When I opened this account over a year ago I interpreted their wording to mean it was ok for me to be a home owner. Coventry have never questioned my ability to qualify for this account in that time. Slight word of caution - the interest rate is variable so could go down and also 5% might be good now, but over the next three years will that still be the case? But if it became uncompetitive then you can withdraw funds which is what I did a few months ago unfortunately as it turned out!0

Re: Cov BS FHS, that email invite to the 'Panel' appears to be a blanket email - I'm already a participant and still got it inviting me.0 -

My dates coincide for application and cheque being cashed are exactly the same as yours, and like you, I have not received any account info via post as yet.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0 -
