  • Dudley BS raising rates WEF 6th October. They seem to have a myriad of RS in their increases chart, so you need to check. Their website isn't much help, as it seems to offer two RS at 1.45% which would rise to 2.2%. Looks like mine increases from 1.65% to 2.4%.

that link shows rates effective from 6th September for me.

is it updating tomorrow, or have you somehow got a different screen to me please?

    thanks
Ignore the hyperlinks on the above web page, just scroll down and there is a chart 'Affected interest rates by product' which gives rates WEF 6th Oct. Their website is a bit of a nightmare.

Santander new RS16 @ 2.75%. Why is there a difference in updating from old RS15 to new RS16 when using the App and when doing it online? We have a joint account, one of us uses the Santander App and the other uses online. Using the App and going to "chat" etc the old RS15 was closed and money transferred to current account all on Monday. Then, after the stipulated 2 working days a new RS16 was opened today, funded with £200 and SO for 11 £200 payments set up ,starting in just over a months time. All done and dusted. However, OH, using the online process has heard nothing since Monday. Are there any forumites, using the online process and going to "chat" still waiting?

Closed successfully online via chat although it took 3hrs for them to respond. (I kept getting logged off but, when I logged back in periodically, chat was still active.) Once I'd got a response, RS15 was closed with interest same day. Santander chat doesn't work for me in Firefox.

Not wanting to get into discussing specific details of deviation(s) has anyone who deviated from Santander reg saver T+C subsequently closed it prematurely without anything being said by Santander or otherwise about having deviated from T+C ?

Still waiting for Santander to respond to my closure request. Did they say anything to you?

Not sure what deviation you mean, but if it's of any help, I closed mine (initially tried by chat online but had to resort to phone), balance transferred to the account from which the s.o. came.  I opened the new one and set up new s.o.  Santander haven't come back to me about anything.

I used the chat bot in the app to request closure at 6pm yesterday.  Got a response at 11pm.  Account now closed and interest credited to my current account this morning.  (I emptied the account yesterday.)

Our two different experiences were: Santander closure of RS15 via "chat" took place same day via App and money transferred on the same day. Online "chat" closure took 3 days and money transferred into current account (CA) after the same 3 days. Both transfers included interest. Remember to cancel SO to old RS15 and also wait 2 working days before opening a new RS16. Account numbers change. Despite T&C`s saying you can only add money using a SO from your Santander CA it`s ok to do an immediate first deposit using an internal transfer from your CA. Also when setting up 11 monthly SO`s have your first SO a month after account opening date. This is not a typical calendar month RS where you feed it on the 1st of the month.

Just went into my Santander Chat for a different reason -  and find that they did ask me an additional question about my RS closure, within a couple of hours of me putting the request up. I did not know about that additional question (no notification), so didn't answer it, and they then closed the case................so I have now tried it again, keeping an eye on the chat this time!

Worth checking whether you are in a similar situation if you are still waiting
