Mrs RP has just told me she might be a customer of YBS, maybe from a long-forgotten Egg account?  Worth investigating!
It was an Egg account, and it contains £70, and YBS 5% RS account opened and should be able to transfer in first £500 tomorrow!
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

Opening the new 5% Yorkshire Building Society Loyalty RS made me look at my "Make me a saver" RS earning 1.25% (Strangely the present online version earns 1%) with a chance of a prize draw win of £1500 for 10 savers a month. Are their any MSE winners? I will ditch it. I realise the chances of a win are virtually zero (I have never been a winner with Nationwide`s start to save draw either!)
For those who are aggrieved at not qualifying to open the new 5% account, they should open a YBS account with a very small balance, register online, and then be ready in one years time for YBS`s next loyalty savings offer. Small crumbs of comfort I know.

If she has made a note of her account details, she can transfer the £500 today. The money will show tomorrow.

Seems I'm not eligible for the YBS Loyalty Regular Saver even though I've continuously had accounts with them since 2020 (different accounts over time)

Are they limiting the 1 year to currently open accounts, rather than continuous membership between accounts overlapping that are now closed?

e.g. 2020 I had an ISA, then months before closing I opened a "Online Rainy Day" savings account to keep membership for loyalties like this, which I closed after opening the Internet Saver issue 10 in 2022
    Same here.

Appears we may be being penalised for closing poorer, unbeneficial accounts.

I have sent a secure message, as currently on holiday, so see what they come back with.

Won't lose any sleep over it though, especially as a variable rate.
I am in the same position, I think I have had three overlapping accounts in 12 months.

I will be raising a formal complaint over misleading terms and conditions if they do not let me open one. Even if it goes nowhere it will waste the time of someone in the complaints department and therefore cost them money to deal with the complaint.

Because I have the Xmas and help me save regular savers I am not given the option of opening this loyalty one
Sorry yesterday I was not given the option to apply but today when I clicked new account it was there along with other savings accounts so now opened
    That's strange.

I've got both of these existing accounts and opened and funded the new one fine yesterday.

Their programs will probably just look at how long your existing account has been open. I'd call them - a human will be able to see that you have had accounts without interrupt.
Thanks, and yes I did message them. Their sending me a paper application for it, acknowledging the system only looks at currently open accounts.

Hopefully that application will go through ok.

I tried to apply for the new YBS RSA from the YBS app yesterday, and it not come up as an available account.

But when I followed the link upthread I was able to apply for the account through the website, and open and fund it instantly.
