Are they limiting the 1 year to currently open accounts, rather than continuous membership between accounts overlapping that are now closed?
e.g. 2020 I had an ISA, then months before closing I opened a "Online Rainy Day" savings account to keep membership for loyalties like this, which I closed after opening the Internet Saver issue 10 in 2022- To be eligible to open a Loyalty Regular eSaver you must have had an open account (Savings or Mortgage) with Yorkshire Building Society as either Main Holder, Other holder or Trustee for at least 12 consecutive months prior to applying and already be registered for online access

Mrs RP has just told me she might be a customer of YBS, maybe from a long-forgotten Egg account? Worth investigating!loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0

Remember it's the 20th tomorrow and we all know what happens at 1400 on the 20th of every other month....
Virgin HBC 12 and hopefully a jump up to 2%1 -

Virgin HBC 12 and hopefully a jump up to 2%Me thinks 2% is not enough. I'm using my HB accounts as easy access from August. I have little savings earning less than 1.75%See also report on BBC that BoE may increase rates by 0.5% in August.

Appears we may be being penalised for closing poorer, unbeneficial accounts.
I have sent a secure message, as currently on holiday, so see what they come back with.
Won't lose any sleep over it though, especially as a variable rate.0 -

Don't see YBS regular saver being variable as any disadvantage. Interest rates are only going to go up over the next year.1
