Interest rate of 1.5% taken from the society's "Interest Rates for Closed Accouts" " Updated 17th March" pdf on bottom of home web page > documents > savings > top item "CLOSED ACC (03-22-1). Interest rate confirmed on my online account.

Yep, I've managed to get £160 in the first month, but now I have it sussed what I need to do I'll be aiming for £250-300pm for the next 11 months, so effectively a regular saver at 5%

it's a tiny amount. You might be able to make a tenner or so over a year, if you are a heavy spender

If you can use Curve, you might be able to get both, the cashback on your credit card and the Chase cashback. Some credit cards don't seem to debit the cashback if you make a payment and then shift it to a different card ("go back in time"). It works with RBS / Natwest Reward cards.

Sounds rather painful to accumulate £250ish a month into the round-up account. Potentially also kills multiple accounts for abuse of facilities. Good luck though.

Thanks for your helpful, friendly response. I only asked as the subject had been mentioned. I do fully understand this is a regular savings discussion and apologise for my crime but could you not have found a gentler approach.

Since quicker explaining it than sending you links without actually helping I hope below answers your question.

In short evry card spend is rounded up to next full pound and that money is put into a separate account called round up account. So if you spend £1.20 then 80p goes into round up account or spend £9.70 and 30p goes into the round up account. All the money in your round up account earns 5% interest which will be added monthly to your round up account. 

In your App you should automatically have a round up account opened at same time as your current account, just click on it and you will have option to pause round ups or activate them.
