That survey was dated 2016 that's six years old.Rich2808 said:
Its only £500 for a higher rate taxpayer - and many of those with the sort of spare cash to invest will be earning above the average. But even then its probably a tiny number that exceed the limits and have enough cash saved to do so to make a cash ISA with lower rates than say over savings accounts or regular savers more useful. But as interest rates rise - if they do rise that may change.Bigwheels1111 said:
Just a quick question, why an isa are you earning more than £1000.00 a year in interest?.Mabel2012 said:Is there a table showing the current Top 10 1 year fixed ISA accounts. If so, where is it located.
If so is a good.
If not regular 1 year fixed savings is better.
Best offer Kent reliance via flagstone give 1.85%
Best offer Shawbrook bank isa is only 1.4%.
Or easy access Chase uk bank 1.5% and 1% cash back on spending via debit card.
No hard credit search, just soft search.
40% of the population according this survey doesn't even have £100 in a savings account - and its the majority in the north, Scotland, Wales and NI. What a divided society economically we are!

Changed my mind! Opened a joint 123 Lite on the phone yesterday, moved loads of DD's around, (thanks Nick_C for the heads up) and opened mine and hers Regular Savers with £200 payments going here @ 2.5% and only £50 still going into Monmouthshire @ 1%londoner62 said:I'm turning down the Santander RS because £200 @ 2.5% will earn me about £32 but first I need to transfer my Everyday Current account to a 123 account, the cheapest of which is £24 a year leaving the equivalent of £8 a year interest! £200 at 1% would return £13!!2 -

Withdrew all bar £1 earlier in the week via post. Very quickly and efficiently done. Sent request/passbook on Monday and funds were in my account via FP 1100 the next day.Every_Penny_Counts said:Not sure whether it has already been posted here but Furness BS have pulled their 1 year RS issue 5.0 -

My existing online access still works as it always has, and shows the new account. I've just filed the letter without scratching off the temporary password panel and ignored it for now.

Me too. If I remember the emails that I received on account opening correctly, it was along the lines that the new id will allow me to log on via online, mobile and telephone whereas the old id were only online and either mobile or telephone. Why that required a completely new id I'm not sure.Fingerbobs said:Daliah said:

That explains it.To be honest, I never use telephone banking, so having a separate ID for it was no hardship.
