I don't think that's the reason, as it includes no postal openings either, and when I checked my interest rate at the start of Feb it said 'Locals and existing members' were able to open the RS a/c
  • Swansea BS Monthly Saver  Maturity instructions

A word of caution for anyone who holds this account, when you get your maturity papers, you get two forms that are almost identical.
One askis for your current maturity instructions, and the other, asks for what you want the instructions to be 'going forward', ie for future years on maturity.

If you only complete the 'current' maturity instruction, and not the 'future' instructions sheet within 2 months of receipt, they will close the account, as they will deem you not accepting the new terms and conditions.

If this happens, a new account can't be opened as it's closed issue.

Be aware; I thought it was a second copy of one sheet and almost discarded it.
  • Anyone having the same problem with Coventry when trying to open RS?

    Hi
Has anyone had any success opening the Coventry RS. I'm having the same problem as above.
    Cheers

I have this problem for a few days now. I wrote to CBS on Twitter but not much help there.
I spoke to them yesterday but they weren't aware of any problem. Having said that they are doing some maintenance tonight. Going to give it another try tomorrow. If not will have to do it over the phone.
    Cheers
Tried again this morning and Coventry application page now working fine.

I can’t understand why the Virgin Home Buying Coach Regular Saver isn’t mentioned anywhere? I opened one this week with an interest rate of 1.75%. I did read that it was only available via an app, but I opened it via a link to their website with no issue.
It's on page 1 of this thread, along with all other RSs. It's been discussed extensively on this thread since last November, and one or two of us have 3 of these by now.

    It's also listed on https://moneyfacts.co.uk/savings-accounts/regular-savings-accounts/

    Yeah but apart from that?

Can these be opened by homeowners?

Had a quick read of the website and it does state for prospective first time buyers.
  • There is already a thread which explains this!!

Three? I have issues 2 and 3 (my understanding is that there was no Issue 1). Has issue 4 been released? If so, it hasn't been mentioned in this thread...

Only issues I am aware of are 2 and 3.

Therefore the implication is that those whom you mention as having three of these have more than one of each issue...
