E-mail from HSBC this morning re Regular Saver.  'Enjoy our highest savings rate' of.... 1%.  'Rates correct as at 24 November 2020.'  Inevitable, but gives people a few more days to apply - fortunately mine expired/renewed at the start of the month.
My current one matures on 22/11. What’s the chances of me being able to open one on 23/11? If I remember right , HSBC are pretty slow at closing previous maturing one and allowing you to open another
Looked on their website? They are apologising for the lengthy delays in opening Regular Savers.
    NS&I, Mark II ... ;)

Mine took a few days to process.  However, I think that may be because I didn't then have a Flexible Saver for it to go into, so they had to set it up.  If you have a FS it might transfer immediately on maturity (anyone?).  Worth a try.

Yes I do keep a Flexible Saver open with a minimum balance and the RS balance was transferred there on maturity last week and I could open up a new RS the same day. So tight but not impossible.

People's experiences seem to vary on this, but I've had both an HSBC and First Direct mature within the last year, and in both cases I was able to apply for a new RS account on the same day the original account disappeared from online banking, which was the day after the anniversary of original account opening. I already had the respective easy-access savings accounts open, but still had to wait a few days for the matured funds to appear.

Mine is now listed along with my other regular savers and described as Virgin Money Home Buyer Coach. The balance is showing as £250. I can't yet access more detail as they are still working on it. I did everything via the app and am expecting to see the 1.75% interest on the account, but would prefer to see it in black and white. The SO is set up. Once the interest rate is confirmed I can forget about it as I do with my other Virgin RSs.
Virgin have clearly set out to be innovative as with the wine offer but this seems to be just another RS with a bit of novelty chucked in. Like the ancient Man Utd accounts with vouchers for prawn sandwiches.
Yeah mine is the same status which as I say is unusual as usually the day after you can access the account and see interest rate etc etc but could just be due to weekend, as you say will be happier once can access it like the rest!!
    Mine is now fully opened.

Opened the Leek on November 6th. That didn't last long!
No requirement to make monthly deposits, closure permitted at any time without penalty.
Nothing in the T&Cs about the consequence of a rate reduction but I think that provides enough. I'll probably just leave my £1000 there and not add to it.

Tipton BS has just launched a fixed rate RS paying 1.35% (max £500 pm, matures Feb-2022). For this one there's no app, or even any online access:  it involves a manual application form and cheque. I couldn't find any postcode restrictions.

I can't see any restriction (online at least) for those of us who already hold the 2020/21 Tipton's Regular Saver.

But in the paper copy of the 2019/20 Fixed Regular Saver (which matured and i started again as a 2% 2020/21 Fixed Regular Saver with the same account details) it states:

Only one account can be opened per customer.

I wonder if this means per issue or per Fixed Regular Saver?
