  • CO-OP RS

Looking to apply for this. Don’t hold any accounts with them and aware I need a current account first. Once I’ve applied for the current account, can I apply for the RS straight away or do they have any slow/manual processing or codes in the post please? Thanks
Current account took a few weeks to get set up (nothing difficult, just a lot of waiting for them to do things) but once you've got online banking it works well and you should be able to get the regular saver opened in a few working days.

It's worth noting that Co-op's regular saver is one of those accounts where the term doesn't begin until you make your first deposit, rather than the day the account becomes available for you to make your first deposit.
  • YBS Loyalty Regular eSaver matures in 1 day and interest (£246.45) just added today.
    £246.81 for me.

Not totally sure why the transactions list in app shows that as Transfer £246.81 and gross interest £6246.81 for 1 entry & also withdrawal of - £0.00 with tax paid £6246.81 as another but ok.

    It doesn't.

It shows a transfer of £246.81 interest, giving you a balance of £6246.81, and a withdrawal of £0 tax (presumably a quirk they can't (easily) remove from the old days where they withheld tax on interest) meaning your balance is still £6246.81.

I know the totals but it just looks wrong/messy etc, maybe things will look better when it's matured.

Like I've not made a transfer, not made withdrawals yet it looks like I have and it looks like I've gained £6246.81 in interest

Still showing as the Loyalty RS and they have put a withdrawal of £0.00 through my account dated yesterday (which doesn’t say anything about tax paid.) So withdrawals are not available, in spite of the fact I had maintained my withdrawal day. Glad I don’t have £6K in there but if I don’t get the funds until Monday they will be getting a complaint.

I suspect you just tried too early.

Mine is now showing as an Easy access saver account and I was able to transfer funds without an issue

Just transferred from YBS to santander and says it should reach Santander by end of Friday.

Don't understand why they can't transfer it same day. If tiny Monmouthshire BS can do same day transfers, why can't YBS?
  • Easy Access Saver 2 now showing so set up a payee to myself & requested my YBS money to be sent to my Virgin Money account via the app

Should this be retitled the BS (you decide) FP thread? (No disrespect to the excellent listings at the top.)

Though continuing with the conversation about maturing YBS regular savers. It may be worth noting that the YBS Christmas 2024 regular saver matures next month on 31/10/24.

If you wait for this account to mature and then make a withdrawal/closure from it the funds won't arrive in your nominated account until Sat 2/11/24, thus if you are wanting to use the funds to feed other regular savers I'd advise closing it early at some point on 31/10/24 to ensure your funds arrive on time for the regular savers.
My account says it matures on 01/11/24 but I'll take your tip anyway.

Cheers for that. Just checked mine. 8p more than you 🥳
And I’m 1p more than you lol
    £248.08 here - I managed the extra £500 though

I haven't held a YBS RS for a while but the last time I did I accidently made an extra payment about 3 weeks before maturity. It wasn't returned and I'm fairly sure I was also paid the appropriate amount of interest on the extra balance.
