I applied for this 22/8 & received signature letter today.  I’ve added account to ‘My Accounts’ & sent initial £500 by FP this morning. I’ll post signature form tomorrow & set up SO from 1 Sept as soon as £500 appears.

Having set up online access on the new system, it seems as though it would allow a withdrawal to my now in place nominated account without having to present the passbook. Can anyone confirm whether this is the case?

Was going to send off to withdraw down to minimum balance to while the notice waiver is in place and redepositing in other higher paying RSs, but if I could save on the postage I’ll wait a month until the account matures (guessing that the online system will not recognise that a waiver is in place.)

Progressive BS Interest Rate Reductions From 2nd September:

Various rates will be decreasing, of note is that there is no change to the interest rate on their Online Regular Rainy Day Saver at 7%, thus this account will be remaining at 7% for now.

Is there a list of their changes, cant see it on the site?
The double access cash ISA is still showing 5.05% which is the one i'd be interested in atm
Not that I've seen. I was one of those who opened the 7% RS before it became available to all UK residents so had to open a Branch Instant Access Saver first. I got a letter saying the branch instant saver was reducing from 3% to 2.75% on 2/9/24.

I gave Progressive BS a ring and they told me they were reducing many of their savings rates but checked and confirmed the 7% regular saver wasn't included in this so would remain at 7% for now. I never asked about any of the other accounts as I was just about to start eating my tea when I opened the letter and don't hold the 5.05% ISA so it wasn't at the forefront of my mind.
You prioritised eating over checking regular savings accounts' interest rates?

    Lightweight.
I know, it's not up to my usual standards is it?

In my defence I've a slight cold at the moment, which has decimated my voice somewhat, consequently I took the rare decision to keep my telephone interactions with the banks/building societies to a minimum till the cold's eased off a bit.

I have since sent them a message online asking them whether their other regular savers and the 5.05% ISA is going to be affected, but I doubt I'll hear back from them till after the bank holiday to be fair.

Just wondering if you've had any reply from Progressive re the 5.05% ISA?
It will be a leading rate soon now Trading 212 are cutting theirs.
    Hope you're feeling better now

Not sure if it has been said before but….
The Progressive ISA account can be only be opened and operated in branch or by post. Not online.

Yes, I have used that way four times now. As long as you have passed your notice date, select withdraw funds & it should ask if you want funds by FPS to your nominated account. Then no need to send passbook & letter. At present, until 9th September, they are allowing penalty free no notice closure since they dropped the rate. But this does have to be by letter with passbook and they only pay this by cheque or CHAPS @ £25.

Thanks - I'll wait until it converts into an EA at the end of September and use that method then. If the account had longer to run I'd probably send the letter, but in fairness to them they've only dropped by the amount of the BoE drop.
