My experience is that you're somewhat at the mercy of however busy they are at the time you apply. I've had most applications go through the next 1-2 working days, but I've also had one take a week and a half to be processed.Marcoos said:First Direct Regular Saver
Just wondering how long it takes to setup. Looking to set it up and wondering about timings, as the SO is setup for the day it's 'created'? Just want to get to close to the end of the month or worse case, start of the month.1 -
Monmouthshire Building Society Exclusive Regular Saver Issue 2trickydicky14 said:I know I'm not the first to get this response.
Not the last either. I'm in exactly the same boat. Also applied online early last week (as an existing account holder - obviously) and heard nothing. Phoned them today and, after holding on while she investigated, was told by the first agent that they had no trace of my application. She asked if I could submit a new application online and promised to flag my details so it would be processed immediately.
I did that, then called them again to make sure it had been received, and was told I'd need to leave it until later this afternoon for it to show on the system.
There's no real urgency, provided the product isn't pulled in the near future.
On the plus side, my calls today have both been answered within about 5 minutes, and the agents are always very friendly, pleasant and helpful.0 -
MonBS Regular saver.
Hello.
I opened the bog standard RS at 4.75% on the 14th of this month. And it's up and running but today l was sent another signature form for the same account to sign.
Also received a signature form for their instant saver which l already have £1 sitting in.0 -

Am I right in thinking the Monmouthshire Reg Saver is paying 6% at £500 a month.
I was looking at the Progressive Reg Saver paying 7% at £300 a month.
Why is everyone leaning towards the Monmouthshire Reg Saver?0 -
Probably leaning towards both. Depends on how much cash you have to save each month, it is obviously better to lodge your cash in the account paying the highest interest (all other things being equal).Middle_Sister said:Am I right in thinking the Monmouthshire Reg Saver is paying 6% at £500 a month.

No, was just stating my experience with Monmouthshire because it seems some are having issues with loss of application information.badger09 said:

Was just commenting on having two extra signatures forms being sent to already live accounts.
I've always got questions

If you are actually saving £500 a month from surplus income (as opposed to moving money around), the best option is £300 to Progressive and £200 to Monmouthshire.Middle_Sister said:Am I right in thinking the Monmouthshire Reg Saver is paying 6% at £500 a month.

Keep in mind a lot of people in this thread have probably got the two previous 7% and 8% Monmouthshire RS's maturing around this time as well, so that's more than £8k to redeploy for those who've paid into them every month. Therefore a new regular saver that allows £500 a month is a very convenient way to deploy some of those funds for those of us in that position!Middle_Sister said:Am I right in thinking the Monmouthshire Reg Saver is paying 6% at £500 a month.

Why is everyone leaning towards the Monmouthshire Reg Saver?I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0
