You'll find better information about this deep within this thread somewhere. I don't understand the suggestion to empty the RS before upgrading it. This cannot be undone if subsequent steps fail and is unnecessary. Someone mentioned the better way of doing it on page 3 of the thread you linked and that's the approach I follow and would recommend.DJDools said:
It was discussed at length on pages 1 and 2 of:masonic said:
That's not a process I have ever used or seen before. It is not the usual method as I understand it. Most people start from step 2, then there is no risk if it doesn't work.DJDools said:
I followed the process as outlined here on this MSE Forum:masonic said:DJDools said:
The same happened to me; and there was no way around for the BoS. I couldn't renew it (even though the option was there — it just wouldn't let me renew) and had withdrawn £1,750…So I had to begin again the next qualifying month with the £250 regular SO.granta said:Bank of Scotland Regular Saver - renewal
I've been able to use the 'renewal' process successfully to close and re-open my Lloyds and Halifax regular savers. However, this approach doesn't work for the BoS one. I just keep getting the 'something's gone wrong' page after trying many times on both the Halifax and BoS online pages whilst logged in.
Is this other people's experiences or is there a way around this please? That doesn't sound like the correct process, as you should not need to withdraw anything until you've successfully "upgraded" to an easy access saver. At that point you don't hold a RS, and as far as the system is concerned never did, so you can apply for a new one with or without withdrawing from your upgraded account.Edit: or, as chris_the_bee points out upthread, for BoS you need to fully close the account and wait until the next morning to open a new one.It didn't work for me.Lloyds/Bank of Scotland/Halifax regular/monthly saver limits
As others had been successful with said process, I tried it but it didn't work for me at all.

I have the Yorkshire Loyalty Regular eSaver 2023 and the Yorkshire Christmas Regular eSaver 2024. I applied for both either online or via their app.jameseonline said:Out of interest does anyone know why you can't apply online for YBS Regulars etc?, only by post/branch, like have they actually given reasons?, are new things launching?🤔0 -
You can't currently apply for any regulars online it's either post or branch only.HHUK said:

Another typo I'm afraid, it seems standards are starting to slip these days. Now updated, apologies for the misinformation.fabsaver said:

As advertised below is a list of the variable rate regular savers I'm aware of that have announced rate reductions or that they're holding their rates since the BOE base rate reduction from 5.25% to 5% on 1/8/24.Bridlington1 said:
For ease of reference I'll add a list of which regular savers have announced rate decreases/rate holds since the last BOE base rate reduction to the Archived List of Regular Savers thread later this evening, I've been maintaining a list of them on my spreadsheet anyway so it'll just be a copy/paste job with todays additions thrown in.
There may be some accounts missing, if there are any please let me know.
Note I haven't listed accounts that are yet to declare.

You currently have it listed as reducing from 5.50% to 5.25%. Is it the same account or an earlier version?
I've updated my post to include a screenshot of the email I received which states this. I was typing that one with around a minute to go until the end of my break at work (info was delayed due to Principality phone line issues that repeatedly put me through to mortgages) so I'm afraid I didn't have chance to work out how to add screenshots onto the forum directly from my phone (will experiment later on for future reference).DJDools said:

Might be worth noting this with YBS:

When I look at the Monmouthshire Website I’m seeing Issue 4 Regular Saver at 4.5% being offered. Variable rate and £350 maximum deposit per month.schiff said:
Their Issue 3 RS at 4.75% is also NLA so they have no RSs at all on offer now. Which I think supports your expectations!ircE said:As I remember, Monmouthshire BS' RSAs were launched at their AGM last year. This year the AGM is next Wednesday...0 -
Probably with a view for it to stay available for a long time. I can't imagine 4.5% RS offer to become competitive any time soon.OneUser1 said:
