You initially choose authenticator app when registering, then in the later stages you just need to click the 'change authentication method' (or similar wording) link under the prompt to download the Salesforce one.

Progressive Building Society:

I was able to open and fund the account today from the UK.

I chose SMS for authentication from the drop down menu rather than the authenticator app when registering.

Even though they accepted via my phone camera my ID, when going back to PC to carry on registration it said it had failed and they will ring me within 2 days (Or I could call them, so I called and the line doesn't even ring)

You can also choose to recieve code through whatsapp, but if you dont have whatsapp it will come as regular sms.

When I made the bank transfer from Halifax, a message said it had to be my name not Progressive if that’s any help
