Sent deposit to Gatehouse by FP yesterday early AM, notification of credit to account received this AM.

Thanks, the official line is it should be in by the end of business today.  I did expect it in already like you experienced and like all my other rsavers.  I must at least wait until tomorrow though.  Appreciate the reply.

TSB have this peculiar set-up where you cannot transfer directly from the TSB current account to the regular saver.
You can, however, send a faster payment from the TSB current account by adding a new payee, checked by COP of course.
Ms Descrabled sends her £250 by faster payment from her Lloyds current account.
You can make a regular deposit by SO from your TSB current ac, tho'.

Hi all, thank you for the various responses regarding the BOS Monthly Saver renewal. Interesting/disappointing to hear others have had the same issue.

If I simply close the account, with the aim of being paid the accrued interest now (if that's possible), will I be barred from opening a new one until the account opening anniversary date?

    Re: Gatehouse
The Faster Payment I sent Gatehouse yesterday morning was acknowledged by text at 14:06 the same day and credited dated 1st April. They normally acknowledge via text at 13:0-something so suggests their systems hadn't cottoned on to the time change over the weekend.

Both myself and OH closed old one early and immediately opened new ones.

Unlike their BOS Monthly Saver counterpart paying the same interest rate, Halifax Regular Saver do not allow you to withdraws any money. I remember there is trick that you could close it and you get a correct interest until that day.  And you could then reopen a new one. IS the trick still working. If not, what will happen if you cancel the account before maturity, do you still need another year before you could open the new one ?? Any lead to this will be very much appreciated.

It works, as far as I know - ISTR there is a gotcha that it won't let you deposit in to a regular saver twice in the same calendar month, even if the previous deposit was to an account which has since been closed tho.

You cannot open a new one until the day after you close the old one. I paid into both old and new in the same calendar month OK.

Apologies, wrong - confusing BoS w/ TSB.
