Nothing on the email to say so. Presumably their bank would change the name on the account upon production of the appropriate documents, so they wouldn't need to change their sort code and account number.

Once they change the account name though, COP checks would return a partial match I guess.

As above, SRBS/SBS/Whatever would need to tell customers if we needed to change payment details. I still haven't received the email (anyone else in the same boat?) but personally will not make any changes to anything unless they write to me and tell me to.
I have a quite long-standing open-ended Regular Saver with SRBS and haven't received an email (so far) advising of the change of name.

SRBS/SBS: Looking at the sending email address, it came from marketing@srbs so may explain some not receiving it - opted out?

"We have rebranded as The Stafford Building Society

We hope this message finds you well. We are thrilled to announce that we are rebranding as The Stafford Building Society, with a new colour scheme, effective March 1, 2024. "We are excited to embark on this new chapter as The Stafford Building Society," said Steve Jones, CEO of the Society. "While our name may have evolved, our mission and commitment to our members remain constant. We’ve been around for nearly 150 years, and with this rebrand, we look forward to serving our members' needs for another 150 years."

    New website

Our team at The Stafford Building Society have also been diligently working to provide you with an improved and user-friendly website in line with the new brand. Some improvements include:

    1. Simplified Navigation:

Explore our website with ease. We've revamped the navigation to make finding information and managing your accounts straightforward and intuitive.

    2. Modern Design:

Enjoy a fresh and modern design that enhances your overall online experience. Our new look reflects our commitment to innovation and member satisfaction.

    3. Member-Focused Features:

Discover new tools and features designed with our members in mind. From FAQ’s, through to comparison tools, we've tailored the website to better serve your needs.

    When does this all happen?

As mentioned the rebranding and website will officially launch on March 1, 2024. With our commitment to being more sustainable, we will be working on a staggered approach to our branded material. Existing stocks of passbooks, leaflets and other documents will be used up before new material is brought in to replace them.

    We Want Your Feedback

Your opinion matters to us. If you have any feedback, encounter any issues, or simply want to share your thoughts on the new brand or website, please don't hesitate to reach out by emailing us at marketing@srbs.co.uk. Your input helps us continually improve and better serve you.

Thank you for being a valued member of The Stafford Building Society. We are excited about the improvements we've made and look forward to providing you with the same high level of service you have come to expect."

Why? The payee name is irrelevant even with COP as you can simply ignore any warnings, the important factors are the a/c, sort and ref.
  • Hi all, I made my £250 monthly payment into the Skipton 7% regular saver yesterday (1st March) but it’s not yet showing in my Skipton account, I thought it would have shown up by today. Can anyone else who has the Skipton account and made a manual transfer yesterday see the payment in their account? Thank you 😊

They are very slow. I made a faster payment on Thursday night at 1 and it appeared on line 12 hours later (not bad for a ... faster payment). On Friday morning I called them and was told they could see the payment in the system but it hadn't been processed yet. Phone them on monday morning. Payments with debit card take 3 days . Faster payments sent during day are usually shown in less than an hour, but those done during night or in the evening may appear many hours later

  • Thank you @francoghezzi, yes I made ‘a faster payment’ very early on Friday, I’ll wait until normal working hours for the April payment. I’ve even checked the payment details at least four times to make they were correct, lol. I’ll definitely ring them on Monday to make sure it’s been received.

They are always very slow but do credit the payment eventually, dated the working day it was sent, or the next working day if sent on a non-working day. My March deposit made by SO on March 1 is still not showing

Thanks @friolento, I think I was worrying more as my last months payment showed up the next day, at least I’m not the only one 😊

Did a manual transfer to Skipton on the 1st for my R/S, at about 7.00am.
It was showing up around 14.00pm.
Gaterhouse took until 16.00pm and that was a SO.
Gatehouse goes through Barclays so take more time.
