Depends which flavour you have - the 2nd issue has a 60 day notice

or if needed instantly, a charge of 60 days interest... if memory serves, the 1st issue was a lot more flexible.

So finally got through to CS at c25 mins - after another 6 minutes wait while she checks with IT... and they decide it's cos' it was opened by them on Saturday, so 'it wouldn't be available until next working day...'

    Me: Well,that's today, isn't it?

CO CS: Waffle, waffle - Sorry... it's the day after the next working day. Try again tomorrow.

Me: Impressive, not:  Applied Wednesday on line - and it takes the Co Op 6 days to process?
Also applied Wednesday online with YBS, opened and funded in 10 minutes...

    CO CS: Sorry.

So if you're in the same boat - save wasting your time phoning, wait until tomorrow.

I have had the same emails about the regular saver and still waiting for my savings account to show online. Will see what tomorrow brings, thank you for the update

  • TBH, I'm glad I didn't go for the Co-op Bank RS, and I have no other Co-op Bank products. This is one of the banks that I've avoided all engagement with for many years, and it would take a whole lot more than a 7% RS to change my mind.
    Likewise

Scores of accounts here but Coop isn't one I'll ever touch again.

Them, Scottish Building Society and Punjabi National Bank all have the same level of incompetence IMO

Whatever you say about Co-op, I will forever fondly remember their Children Bonus Saver (each year until they were 18 my kids received £10 for simply keeping it open with £50 in it). This RS could be a bit of faff to set-up, but its flexibility IMHO will reward the effort. If only it was fixed rather than variable rate......

p.s. that lasted until 2023, it was not last century stuff

I believe its the first issue, currently 5.6%
Was just thinking, might need to withdraw some to fund some other higher interest RS's

    Yes, no withdrawal limits.

Have made multiple withdrawals already with no penalty.
