Mansfield Kick Start Regular Saver Issue 7 at 6.1% is now NLA. It has been replaced by a Bonus Regular Saver Issue 8 at the same rate.

    A few things to note:
    • Account is branch/post only though can be viewed online
    • Interest rate is 6.1% variable including a bonus of 1.85% for 12 months, unlike the Kick Start RS which was 6.1% fixed for 12 months.
    • Max deposit £250 per calendar month
    • Minimum monthly deposit is £10, though 2 payments can be missed every 12 months
    • Available to existing customers with 1 years continuous membership and residents of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire or South Yorkshire
    • 2 withdrawals permitted per year including closure, else a penalty of 90 days interest will be applied to the amount withdrawn
I've requested the form for issue 7 already, didn't get it yet. Now requested the form for issue 8. Hopefully this one will stay on the shelf for a bit longer than issue 7.
If you want an account then sooner is usually better than later for making the application. But the Mansfield Kick Start Regular Saver was around for quite a while. Several months.

Then again sometimes accounts get withdrawn after just days. That Monmouthshire 7% account for example.
Although it was only available for locals and existing members with at least 12 months continuous membership. I didn't open my first Mansfield account until mid-September 2022 so had to wait a couple of weeks until I was eligible for the Kick Start RS before applying for it, I imagine there will have been some others on here who weren't eligible at the time it was launched but have become eligible during the time after it was launched.
My 12 months membership anniversary was on 29th December, but I am in the catchment area. The reason I didn't bother considering issue 7 was I didn't think that I can request the application form sent to me by post.  My printer doesn't work and the nearest branch is too far away for the benefit I get from opening this account.
I don't have a printer and contacted them to send me a pack which they did. I only applied for Issue 7 after Christmas so just managed to get my form in before they pulled it. I've just requested the pack for Issue 8. They also send a SAE which is helpful
How did you contact them? Did you do it by 'secure message' or phoned them? I just filled in the simple form "apply by post - contact us here" stating what account I'm interested in the 'comment" section.

I've used the secure message system each time I think. Saves having to fill in any other details and they always reply promptly.

Online form worked. I've received a thick A4 size envelope with three 1st class stamps on it this morning.  Among the other literature the envelope contained the application form and SAE.  A bit strange that the covering letter was dated 20th November, I've requested the form only about a week ago.  The list of available accounts included issue 7, but it is clearly NLA so I've applied for issue 8. Filled in, included cheque for £250 and sent it off.  I hope issue 8 will still be available when they look at my application.

They usually give a couple of days leeway with postal applications I've found. When they offered their tracker 90 account last year I requested an application pack and then posted the completed application form off the day after it was withdrawn (though I backdated everything to just before it was withdrawn). They still opened the account for me.

EDIT: Apologies, looking back I should've probably mentioned this on Thursday.

I will probably receive another pack like this soon because I've requested it twice (the one I received today must be the response to my request for issue 7).  If I do I will try this trick to backdate it for issue 7 and see what happens, but it will probably be too late.  I'm not too hopeful, but if it works, it will be good to have both issues.

90 days tracker was a good catch.  It was most competitive for a long time. I've put the notice for the interest received at the end of December, but keeping £1k minimum operating balance, don't want to close this account - it has no end date and 5.25% is a very good rate.  Most of my notice pot is now in 5.6% RCI 95 days'.

Regarding Furness Christmas RS, looks like its necessary to send them ID documents, originals or certified copies.
    Or bring them to branch.
Though you only need to do this if you're applying as a new customer, if you're an existing customer sending ID isn't necessary.
Have account with Furness did make phone call was asked to provide photo ID non certified
