I always thought Captcha's were to prevent robots from signing up to things online. But why would a robot want to open a savings account? Probably an expert could explain it.
Yep, opened and funded inside 10 minutes.Hattie627 said:Gatehouse
When you open the account, it says that User ID will come in the post in Welcome Letter. This might put you off funding account immediately as you won't be able to see it until the letter arrives.
However, I have just received an email (an hour after opening the account) with User ID. My payment sent an hour ago by FP not showing yet, but it is one of these accounts where you send the payment to a holding account in the name of Gatehouse and it is then allocated to your own account.
Annoying bits, why does the password not allow special characters? And the Captcha required is utterly pointless.0 -
Applied for and opened the Gatehouse Regular Saver.
The reference at the end of the application is different to the reference in the app. If I send £1 to each, I wonder if it will receive both?I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
OK, I jumped in and opened it.£300 sent and standing order in place for the 1st of December.7 Regular savers now.Thats my limit, NOOOOOOO more.0

The Gatehouse accounts that I have are held with Barclays; if payments are made before 1 pm, they are credited to the account the same day, and you'll receive an email/text shortly after 1 pm to confirm receipt (though I've found that if a payment is sent just after midnight, you'll receive the email/text just after 8 am).Hattie627 said:Gatehouse

Will give this a miss, not being able to withdraw is a no go for me. Sad as it is a good rate imho1

This is one advantage of keeping an account open with a minimal balance with each organisation - you've got immediate access to online services in the event a decent account comes from an unexpected organisation. I opened an account with Gatehouse earlier in the year, so opening this was not a problem and its immediately viewable.Hattie627 said:Gatehouse

I will pass as well only for the reason i really don't want to open up anymore accounts with new (for me) providers. Yep, my loss.

Currently, for accounts paying less than 7% they have to be instant access. 7% is currently my cut-off point for putting money awaypecunianonolet said:Will give this a miss, not being able to withdraw is a no go for me. Open and funded Gatehouse immediately with £300, S/O set for the 1st and 13 payments should be possible as no MAX balance stipulated.
However, do Gatehouse allocate funds as paid in on a weekend and allocate interest?
I'm New to Gatehouse, Login ID received within 10 mins and account showing as active, payment not yet allocated though and will not expect to see it until after 1300.
Interesting that the payment ref to allocate funds isn't actually the account number, that's a new one on me.
Easy Access saver also opened as a back up a/c as quite happy with my Santander 5.20%.
ETA: Both account deposits showing by 1301.3
