Its no different to buying a sofa for £1000 and then finding it half price in a sale the week later, you wouldnt do a chargeback there either.heatherw_01 said:bradders1983 said:Im sorry but why would a credit card company entertain a chargeback on this? What service is not being provided?
exactly, chargebacks should not be used for this at all2 -
Depends. I brought a PS4 in the Black Friday sale. Two weeks later it was reduced further by £50. I went in and they gave me the £50 back in my card. (Argos)bradders1983 said:

Same with a bag and shoes from John Lewis. They refunded £85 when a week later they were reduced 30% on that occasion both we’re used.0 -
Within the last few weeks I arranged and paid for 8 visas for Turkey for a golf trip at the end of March and now they’ve announced UK visitors won’t need visas after the beginning of March. Is there a way to claim this back as it’s about £200 I didn’t need to pay out?

It doesn't depend.Okydoky25 said:

You're describing 2 goodwill gestures from retailers.
That's nothing like a chargeback from your credit card company.

There's an identical question just below your thread.

This is good news and should encourage more people to visit Turkey. I've been twice in the past two years and I'm keen to return to explore more of the country.
Somehow I can't see the government returning the action and making the UK visa-free for Turkish visitors.0 -
Your example was also from a retailer and I was making the point you don’t ask you don’t get.Pollycat said:

So both retailer goodwill gestures which is totally different to a chargeback, glad we agree.Okydoky25 said:

If the Turkish government arent in the mood to be offering refunds, nobody is getting a penny back. Chargebacks are for when goods and services are not recieved. The OP has the visas and therefore the service has been recieved.
