hubb said:I added my first gmail account with its password (the one I use to log into the gmail account) and its working fine. Same principle for the second account and it does not accept it. Again, I do not know what todo about it as there is only one password for the gmail account. why would it reject one and not the other ?The first (working) account has not 2FA enabled, the second has. That's the difference between the 2 accounts. Are you ignoring the solution or do you not understand it? If the former, then it is very frustrating for people who try to help you. If it's the latter, then say so. I posted you a link to the Google support pages, which explains what you need to do. If you get stuck, then ask here.Have you actually tried to login at the Google site with the second account? It might also be that this account is locked due to too many unsuccessful login attempts and you need to solve a captcha to unlock it.

We don't know the 2nd account is 2FA. Op - try this please...
1. logoff all gmail browser accounts
2. logon problem gmail account in browser
3. click this link
https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps
4. Turn ON Allow less secure accounts
5. add account to TB (again)
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.1 -
Hang on ... the second account isn't the first account but with a + adder, is it? (e.g. hubb+mse@gmail.com). Gmail won't allow that account to logon.
If your accounts are hubb1 and hubb2 (for example) then they should both work ... if hubb2 doesn't work then it suggests that the hubb2 account has 2FA enabled in it. You've already been told how to fix that.
Edit: Sorry - I didn't see that there was a page 3 until after I'd posted this reply.0 -

I don't think you seem to understand folks. I am entering the EXACT user password for the gmail account when I try to get it to feed into my Win 10 email and it works fine. My gmail mails come through. I do THE SAME with Thunderbird and it rejects it.0

We understood you the first time, but you seem to have problems following advice. What of the suggestions have you tried? We're running in circles now, I'm out of here...

But why would it treat one gmail account differently than the other when they are both set up EXACTLY the same ? And why would the Win 10 mail app have no problem with it ? the problem MUST be with Thunderbord. In this case, Thunderbirds are not go.0

hubb said:I set it up exactly as I did for the other gmail account. prepared to stand corrected but from my view it just does not like me having 2 gmail accounts. Looked at the settings on both accounts and both set up identical, except for the usernames and passwords of course.

In this case, Thunderbirds are not go.Well, clearly then, why are you wasting your time and ours since you think that TB doesn't work , which most of us think it does, stick with W10 mail app , and ask for the thread to be closed, and let the world move onOr perhaps answers questions posed above to asking "have you tried this..."

I wrote you 3 times already that the second account might have 2FA enabled. To find out whether the account has 2FA enabled, follow this link from grumbycrab's postIf you get the message "This setting is not available for accounts with 2-Step Verification enabled. Such accounts require an application-specific password for less secure apps access", then you have 2FA enabled and you need to follow https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en . If not, then turn on "Allow less secure accounts" and try again in Thunderbird. After you tried everything above, report back what worked or what worked not, including error messages.1
