Have you checked carefully what you added ? I have just added another gmail account to my TB and no problems, Have you checked the same details using a browser?0 -

If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
I set it up exactly as I did for the other gmail account. prepared to stand corrected but from my view it just does not like me having 2 gmail accounts. Looked at the settings on both accounts and both set up identical, except for the usernames and passwords of course.0

As I said previously, the passwords are the correct passwords. I add the gmail account, name and password and it rejects it.0

I told you last night already, that your normal password will not work if you have 2 factor authentication enabled. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/76859174#Comment_76859174Then you'll need to set an app password for Thunderbird in your Google account. https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=enThis is not Thunderbirds fault. The same will happen with any other email client.

I use POP3 not IMAP, so it may be different, but I've just looked at my settings and they are the same for both accounts apart from one thing (*)Mail server pop.gmail.comPort 995Security = SSL/TLS and 'normal password'* = the only difference was that I had to add (can't remember why now, sorry) was that the username in the most recently installed account is entered as recent:xxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com0

I added my first gmail account with its password (the one I use to log into the gmail account) and its working fine. Same principle for the second account and it does not accept it. Again, I do not know what todo about it as there is only one password for the gmail account. why would it reject one and not the other ?0
