    Good Morning
Fresher but still warm (if that makes sense) start to this eclipse day, looks like being cloudy here so I doubt if Dad will even make an effort to watch it.
Nothing planned otherwise so it will just be the usual routine of walks and waiting for the next walk.

Good that you are seeing your family again leanfun, just hope they don't tire you out too much.

    Morning
It's a shame your dad couldn't save the tree Duncan, At least he knows he tried everything but it wasn't meant to be. I had similar with a rose bush that came from my mum's garden, it just didn't like being moved and I lost it after trying everything.
I hope you got a new lead, your be running out of colours soon. Enjoy your walks today.
I notice how much traffic has increased leanfun and some roads are just so busy since things are returning to normal. I hope yoi got some rest after your time in the park.
I have been busy the last couple of days, not with work but going here there and everywhere. Today I have said I am not going anywhere but in the garden to do some work, typical the weather is cloudy but at least it should be cooler.
Hope you all have a good day

    Good Morning

Silly Dad got his days mixed up, the eclipse is today at about 11:30am.
I hope you managed do do some gardening indie, something always crops up when you actually plan do do things, Dad keeps planning to work on the lawn but then sees something else needing done and next thing you know another year has gone by and the lawn still needs work done, it would not be so bad if it was huge but it's only about 3m square.
I am taking him to get some grass tratment granuals today, that might inspire him to do the edging as well.

Just see the eclipse now and the cloud cover is helping reduce the brightness.

Well done on the win leanfun. Just in time for summer, and it will keep the GK's entertained when they visit.
I missed the eclipse as well Duncan I had planned to try and see it but as per usual if I plan anything it goes bottoms up,lol. I did get out the garden and finally got the hedge cut, I spent all morning out there and only came in around 12 as it was getting too hot. I hope your dad gets the lawn sorted this year.
It's another warm day here and I am off till tomorrow. I have a little shopping to do but not going to do too much as am tired from the long shift yesterday, we were short of staff and very busy. My next 2 shifts are half days so shouldn't be too tiring. DS's GF has to have another biopsy of the lump on her neck just to make sure it's nothing nasty as they say they can't really tell from the other one she had, as it was a quick one and they only took a very small amount. She has another appointment in July with the consultant, just waiting for the appointment for the biopsy now. Charlie Boy is walking better but holds his leg up when running so will take him back to the vets next week. I expect they will take x-rays and we will go from there.
Hope you all have a good weekend

Morning.   It’s already 24.6 degrees in the hall here so another hot day.  Thanks re win FireFly.  I told DD2 about it thinking her two would like it when they come in the summer and her response was to say she will come up this Friday stay the night and collect it.  I think she enjoyed coming the other week and had said she would come again.   Dare I say I’m on a roll with wins.  Yesterday I had a message on Twitter to say I’ve won three children’s books from World Environment Day they look interesting.   Hope there’s more luck in the Inn soon.

Pleased to hear you have a range of birds in your garden Firefly.  There used to be a lot of starlings on a tree in a road near us and they were loud.  The other week when GS stayed here he was imitating a birds song.  It was very impressive.  I looked up bird songs thinking I’d buy a CD for him.  On the RSPB site I found some very impressive information on lots of things about birds but one part had common bird song and a picture of the bird.  So I’ve sent this link on to him and will send to other GKs.  https://www.rspb.org.uk/birds-and-wildlife/bird-songs/what-bird-is-that/

Yesterday DH managed to drive us down to visit our DS in Kent.  It was great to seen him.  We were able to take him to a very large new Lidl’s for a big shop.  He’s been having Iceland deliveries.   I took a very large frozen veggie lasagne down and it was the best I’ve made so even DH enjoyed it.   Not good food for hot weather but we ate it out in the garden in the evening when it was cooler.  Sadly DH and DS do not eat any salad.

There’s a very long garden there with rooks nesting in some tall trees at the bottom so not many small birds.   We could hear a continuous co co that DH thought was a wood pigeon. We were visited by a couple of sea gulls and magpies.   The trains go rattling by at the very bottom.  You do see smaller birds up near the house.  So DH decided it was quite noisy there for the countryside.  My hearing came back this week so I had to agree but it was lovely to see all the green.

    Take care.

Well done on the books win leanfun, the GK's will enjoy reading them. Your lasagne sounds lovely. It's so hot here today I have to keep wiping my face and we have the fans on, lol. I worked yesterday morning and they asked me to stay but I didn't. I did a long day on Sunday and it should have been a half-day so wasn't going to do a long day again. DS's GF got a phone call yesterday could she go to the hospital and do a covid test and more blood tests ready for her biopsy today. First, she heard of it. So she did the tests yesterday and I took her for her biopsy today. The Dr said they got 2 good specimens so hopefully, they can sort her op and any treatment out she needs now. She has a consultant meeting next month to discuss it all. Charlie is still holding his leg up when running so am going to get him booked in for an X-ray. I am so glad we gave him a fur cut with this heat it would have been unbearable for him. I am off tomorrow so going to just potter around inside.
Hope you all had a good day

Morning.  Thanks Indie.  It’s much cooler here this morning. Still sunny so far.  Pleased to hear you are trying to stick to your intentions of working half days. Hope you have a good rest today.
Do hope the results of your DS’ GF are not worrying.  She’s certainly going through a difficult time.
Sorry to hear Charley is still hobbling.

Firefly good luck with the bird song.  This is said by someone who who has difficulty remembering tunes.  I think I might have another go with the bird song though.

Duncan hope your Dad is good and you have been out and about.  Take care of him.

    Take care.
