Lidl Athena ANPR - Lidl cancelled charge

Hi,
Newbie here , but wanted to share my very limited  experience.
Received a PCN from Athena ANPR ltd , stating exceeded parking by 20 minutes , I appealed using the claim process online and it was rejected, then I appealed using the so called IAS , independent Appeals Service , that does not look that independent to me . both my appeals were based on the Charge is Not a Contractual Fee – it is in fact a disguised breach and that the excessive charges outweighed any loss they may incur, I also apologised for potentially exceeding the time , based upon " subjective ANPR camera data".
In addition I emailed Lidl customers services , and within 3 hours , I had a reply per :
Re: Your Contact
Thank you for your response.
In light of your comments, on this occasion only, I have requested that the parking charge is cancelled. Athena will confirm the cancellation in writing in due course.
Thank you again for contacting us.
Yours sincerely,
For and on behalf of Lidl Great Britain Limited

So to be fair to Lidl , they have in my instance , been fair , but I do wonder if all this negative publicity in relation to their parking policy and who they have contracted this to is having an adverse effect on their reputation.
It has put us off shopping there , sometimes you do overrun , this is a multi shop site where we go.
As a newbie to this , I can only say , the best option is to appeal to Lidl direct , it appears otherwise , there is very little chance of getting a result from either Athena ANPR or the "Independent IAS" who appears to be owned by the same people who own Gladstone solicitors , who specialise in Corporate Debt Recovery for the very same industry !!
