So jealous of you all! I'm having a total nightmare with my solicitors at the moment. @renfirsttimebuy at least your solicitors give you a number to call them on, I can't even get that! 😂

@sjc93 the receptionist kept saying they are busy...he is on another line. I was persistent....didn't care kept calling and at the same time sent dozens of emails lol... basically like a nightmare client!!!!. I thought if i don't nothing will happen. I think they were fed up of me.

It helped that the sellers lawyers emailed and called twice too.

Again, you're really lucky! My solicitors phone lines keep dialling out & literally I get no response whenever I call.

They have us, the EA & the vendors solicitor constantly on their backs at the moment - I'm at my wits end!
  • @sjc93 still have tomorrow to happen...who knows! I hope exchange is successful...

I wish you all the best. Hope you get a response soon from the solictor. Good luck!

It's scary times...I didnt think about it but i a friend mortage offered expired and she may not get a similar offer. It's so difficult.

Good news on your dates being set up I hope exchange and complete goes smoothly!

I’m still waiting on 1 enquiry on the sellers contract. My solicitor has told me today they’ve had to ask their manager to contact the sellers solicitor manager to find out why this document is still outstanding... I’m not allowed to call the sellers solicitor and discuss my case but can I call them to ask them to do something at least?! I’ve asked the estate agent to call them/the seller to explain the delay but now they’ve stopped emailing me back, seems fishy or am I over thinking it?

@120624 I don't think you should call the sellers solicitor. But I think you should become like me and keep calling and emailing the estate agent and your solicitor. Are you in a chain? They may be delaying things as they need more time.

At first I was a bit embarrassed thinking about calling constantly. But I thought what the hell......until they say please don't call I won't stop! Lol

Now I'm nervous about tomorrow...I've read awful stories on exchange!!!! :(

@renfirsttimebuy every time I ask my solicitor what’s causing the delays/can you phone them they just say we are waiting for the sellers solicitor to come back then we can progress your case further. Tried calling on Monday but the line cuts out.

I feel like resorting to threatening to pull out but that’s obviously frowned upon and not only that how bloody difficult is it?! Now that the EA isn’t replying I worry the query is going to take a while to resolve which is why they aren’t directly answering us.

No chain we’re FTB & the property is vacant :( I just can’t believe that for 2 months it’s been outstanding and my solicitor hasn’t been told why, that would suggest she hasn’t spoken directly to them for all this time? Really?
  • Wow...one thing I have learnt is solicitors are lazy...covid 19 or not. My estate agent told me to keep bugging them. I don't know what to say....it must be so frustrating especially since the house is vacant!

My mortage was accepted in 18/02 similar to yours. It could be just delay because of covid. I really don't know what to say. Why dont you drive down to the estate agent? I class your case as 'essential' lol

@renfirsttimebuy I would if I could :D   they’re working from home! I’m in contact with the area manager for this EA and he was brill at the beginning replying at 6pm on a Saturday! But now... which is why I’m suspicious of it being a bigger issue than they are informing me. Feel like I keep getting stuck in a corner by all my contacts and literally have no where to go. I come on here to vent more than anything because I think you’ll agree, there’s not much that anyone can advise anymore  :(
  • I think you need to decide how long you can be patient.....then set a date...after which YOU may need to pull out.
