Oh, I must be a bad mother. It has been known for me to put our tree up on Xmas eve. It was a real tree though, if that makes any difference.

Mine are going up tommorrow. We have an open fire now, so its the first xmas with one, cant wait, and my living room is going to look camper than a row of pink tents
CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.0 -
We must be well off the mark, our xmas lights in town went on two weekends ago! Tree goes on this weekend though.
In my house it's just me but I LOVE xmas. I try to get my pressies all bought by the end of November (finishing tonight!) and on the first I put on Muppets christmas carol, get a few drinkies in and decorate my house, wrap all the pressies and write all my cards. If I put up the tree without any pressies under it it makes me
a christmas tree should have pressies under it!
Chicken noodle - I'd put up a small tasteful tree, nothing gaudy or grotto-ish but nice and simple, it's all about letting the viewers feel like they could LIVE in your house not just live in it if you know what I mean?!?!?!0 -
Tree will be up on Sunday while watching Elf (and probably hungover!). Fave xmas movie is Scrooged though! It used to be on every xmas then it disappeared for a bit...so i bought it on DVD
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0 -
Ours will go up either this weekend or next.
Is it bad luck to take the deccys down before 12th night
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

When I lived at home, it was always December 13th (12 days before, and my Grandad's birthday)... but now OH and I live alone and we head back home again on Dec 21st, we'll be putting 'em up on Monday so we see them for a bit! x0

I might be slow about putting them up, but I'm a stickler for them being down by the 12th night. Not like my sil though, she has them down on boxing day.Is it bad luck to take the deccys down before 12th night

I always want to take mine down before New Year, but I worry it might be bad luck

Mine are late usually on Xmas Eve I will put up a swag on the fireplace, and put up the cards, Boxing day the cards will be binned and the swag put away for another year, meanwhile fiancee will be putting up 3 trees  to counter my grinchiness. At least next year I will be in Thailand for Xmas

I have never understood why people decorate the outside of their houses
