  • Ours will probably go up somewhere around the 12th....

My sons birthday is sat so we always leave it at least a week after that... but I am on nights next weekend so will have to wait till probably tues or weds
  • Wow - am I the only one who leaves it really late? We put ours up no earlier than two weekends before the big day. We're going to our local lights switch on tomorrow though (!!!!!! 'n' Dom are doing it - why????) which we've done for the last four years, so maybe that scratches the itch for awhile.

I am getting ridiculously excited whenever I see a Christmassy ad though and we finally caved and started on the Christmas films at the weekend - Home Alone, good starter and my daughter (6 on Friday) adores it.

There's a good (off-topic) question: fave Christmas films?

    Mine:

    Muppet Christmas Carol
    Nightmare Before Christmas
    The Santa Clause
    The Box of Delights
    Home Alone 1 & 2
Miracle on 34th Street (I cry every time Richard Attenborough 'sings' Jingle Bells with the little deaf girl)
    It's A Wonderful Life

    Ho ho ho!

The school decorations were all put up on Monday....complete with tree too! :D

I do mine at home about 16th December :D
My second favorite household chore is ironing. My first being, hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint.

Ours "have to be up" for DF's birthday...but seeing as he'll be off & I'm in work that day (14th) he is doing them by himself!

My parents always put the tree up the Saturday before Christmas - but that was years & years ago when we were kids.....me & the DS's always put them up 2 weekends before Christmas.

It will be Christmas Eve as always, it makes getting up on Christmas morning really special , when I see people with them up for weeks and weeks I wonder if they even really notice them by the time Christmas day arrives.... JMO..

Saw my first tree & decs on 9th November....but then again, lots of hoteliers up here trim up and go away in November, then they're ready for the Christmas guests when they get back.
