How would you assess my very first buy and negotiation skills

I'm just sad that the OP didn't buy my Dads house - if he had added £15K onto the initial asking price my father would be £80K richer.... and the OP would be £80K poorer than the new owners.

This has to be a wind up... It's not half term yet, is it? Haven't laughed out loud at a thread for far too long; thanks, all.1

I am going through a purchase at the moment having sold mine.
Am I a master negotiator? Probably not
Do I want to be? Do I heck
As long as I get the keys to the new place and am happy with it, nothing matters.

A special thanks to the few rare geniuses who remarkably pinpointed the fact that offering higher than the asking price should be avoided. I will take your advice very seriously. Also, I am sure all the rest of the readers of this post feel very enlightened and amazed by your cunningness.

I’m honestly baffled as to which part of your negotiation it is you are particularly proud. You have said it’s not beating the other offers nor now the price elementg000444555 said:A special thanks to the few rare geniuses who remarkably pinpointed the fact that offering higher than the asking price should be avoided. I’m honestly baffled as to which part of your negotiation it is you are particularly proud.Where did you read anything about any negotiation strategy other than me mentioning being honest with the EA?You have said it’s not beating the other offersBeating the other offers is the result, it's not a negotiation strategy. If you're asking me whether I am satisfied about beating the other offers, I hope it already recurred to you that this was the goal from the get go.nor now the price elementThe price element is one of the means to the result, it's not a negotiation strategy either. And I get your advice that offering higher than the asking price is not ideal but sometimes it's necessary if you want to get the deal.0

Cunningness? Hmm, think that should be cunning .., or not.1

A negotiation tactic so cunning you could pin a tail on it and call it a weasel.2
