Usually, if you are the buyer, this would pertain, AFAIK... Of course, we don't know the "secret" strategies the OP brought to bear so are in no position to comment, let alone judge one possessed of such esoteric knowledge.

Could somebody please tell me how I just did that?  There never was a fainting icon, was there?
The search function on this forum is loads better than tyhe old one, theres a plus for you.

I remember seeing that, never looked back to see how it turned out, care to save me reading 55 pages with a few of the key bullet points please?
It must be if I can work it... Except I used an old link (pink, blushing...)

Sorry, hazyjo, I found that thread funny but a bit like trying to read the Odyssey; never made it past about page 4.  I'm sure someone on here managed it, though.

My bad, spadoosh, thought it was hazyjo who asked that and this forum seems not to allow more than one edit per post.  It also seems to have forgotten threads one has unsubscribed to, since I keep getting "notifications" and don't know how to turn them off.  It has also forgotten my Ignore List.  Not cool.

Im taking that as a compliment, ive been called a lot worse!
You can edit more than once but the cog disappears. You can either refresh and the cog should reappear or if you to the top right hand corner of the white banner where the cog should be, a popup should come up saying 'edit'.

Re notifications, if you go to yourprofile page, little circle usually about the top right of the forum pages. Edit profile and along the left hand side there will be a link to 'notification preferences'. You can play about with setting there.

Think the ignore list is no more so cant help with that.

Thanks for that, spadoosh!  This technology sshh makes my brain hurt.
ETA:  OK, tried it... !!!!!! does "write on my wall" mean, please?  If anyone did that and I caught them at it, I would not be answerable...  Is my interpretation too literal?

Sounds a bit like sales tactics to me.

Quite often people can't get a mortgage if they pay over asking price as the house isn't valued at that much.

Happened to my friend, she ended up knocking on the sellers door one evening and explained the EA was making them offer over asking price to compete with others. She couldn't get a mortgage because the house wasn't worth the amount they offered so would have to pull out. The seller agreed to sell for the asking price, claimed they had no idea the EA was doing that and ended up complaining to the EA for making buyers compete when they were happy with selling at the asking price!

Theres a new modern version where EAs tell the truth to prosepctive purchasers and the extra is that the house is thrown in....
