Great news about the card. Always good to save money on interest.
Thanks SA yes it makes me happy 😁
The other card has accepted my application but not told me the credit limit yet.
Won't hurt because there's only half the amount to shift now before Jan so even if it's not enough to shift the lot it will take some more interest off.
The downside is the repayments will be higher as these cards want 2.5% min but again we want the debt gone so overpay anyway.
Fingers crossed we can hammer them down before the next energy cap in October!
Trying to decide if it would help to put the council tax rebate towards the debt as I've already worked the higher cap April into our budget. Was tempted to spend it on a drill as our cordless combi died a while back. Think we are better saving for this when we have the furniture debt paid off and can then use the household goods budget - decisions decisions

Good morning. The change of avatar made me chuckle! 😁

Glad you got accepted for a new 0%. I've just done a shuffle on one of mine that was ending but had 3.5% fee. 🤦‍♀️

  • Morning @Naomim
Changed it to wind up WW on her thread obviously 😂
I bet the fee was lower than the interest it would have cost you though. I paid 2.69% on the one that has already transferred and the one I'm waiting to find out the limit will cost 1.99%.
It's all going in the right direction. I would have been under £21k without the transfer fees at end of Mar but now will be over unless I can find another £250ish which is doubtful 🥴

We're still around £23k but it's heading in the right direction like you say, so I'm not stressing about it.

When we had our last major crisis getting it all onto 0% cards really helped my head. Saved us a huge amount as well, but I stopped fretting that two thirds of what I paid disappeared.
  • It certainly is a mindset change from using credit all the time to realising how much better you can live without it.

I agree @moving_forward and @redofromstart getting it all onto 0% definitely helps. Once I had my LBM, it took about 6-9months for 0% offers to start rolling in as I was overpaying. It just goes to show how these companies keep the poor, poor. Unless you can afford to pay there's higher interest and no 0% deals. It's shocking.
