sleepyjones said:@GPark The theory is that the first time you open a post it will show you the first post, every subsequent time you open the post it will take you to the last post in the thread because I guess it assumes you've already read the original post. Whether this is what actually happens, I'm not sure.
But it does mean I'm going to have to change the way I comp! Until now, I have often logged on via my phone whenever I had a few spare minutes during the daytime, and done my red ticks/skipping. Then in the evening, when I am on my laptop, I go through the list of comps, clicking open in new tabs any that are not red ticked. I can then bookmark all tabs into a new folder in Chrome, which helps me to do the latest ones first. And it means that if its a comp with a long end date that has a mandatory email sign up, I don't have to sign up until the last minute.
I don't think this system will work under the new forum, so I'll have to start figuring out a new system instead.1 -
thingamaBob said:Didoow said:With regard to the skipped and entered buttons, I used a sort of code to myself (and I got this tip from someone else so at least one other person uses it this way too!), in that green on its own meant I had started, but not finished a comp, and both together meant I was done with it completely, so in case this isn’t in the plan, I would love them to not only be on/off but that they are independent of each other, as they were before. I appreciate that this wasn’t their intended function but I found it very useful. I also know you can now bookmark posts but I don’t necessarily want notifications and emails on all posts I want to bookmark
Hoping these can be added to the list @sleepyjones please, thank you

Someone has just added a comp to The Puzzler thread in the sub board area and I noticed that you can't see the ending dates on all the comments, I guess it depends how the poster laid out their post, maybe it's beacuse they only put the ending date in the header part1

I've read through the thread and can't see any information so sorry if this has already been covered, but when I use search eg a date has been mentioned for end date comping, none of the entered/skipped buttons are showing so I can't see which ones I've already entered. On the main page I know I can't click skip but I can see when I have already pressed it but this doesn't work on search results.

Yeah @spanglish , it is really annoying, hopefully the devs can work out a solution but at the moment the Entered / Skipped don't show in the search results.

This is horrific. So few threads on each page with apparently no way to have more. Also tried searching E: 08/02 since we cant sort by end date, and it brings up every single reply to every thread so the same thread could be listed tons of time. I clicked to just search threads too.1

@Mariobug25
Can you try this for your search results? : https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/search?adv=1&search=&title=E%3A+08%2F02&author=&cat=72&tags=&discussion_d=1&within=6+months&date=today0 -
Just thought I'd check before I posted in site feedback, don't fancy clogging up FT's inbox with something if I've cocked about with some settings by accident, but is anyone else having to play "guess the notification"?
(PS. Not subscribed to this thread but subscribed to tags, so @morningpostie me)

Yeah, I noticed that changed earlier ... looks really nice now ... except you can't see the text0

sleepyjones said:Just in case this hasn't occurred to anyone, when you're viewing the main board you can right click on the titles and select "Open in new tab", which dramatically decreases the amount of time it will take to "red X"
You right click on Title and open in new tab, Click the Skipped button and close the tab?
I currently left click the Title to open the post, Click the Skipped button and then click the browser back button.
Both ways you end up back on the main board titles after 3 clicks. My way, the Skipped marker has updated straight away, the other way, the Skipped marker doesn't show up until the board is refreshed.
What am I missing?0
